Mexico - Puerto Rico 74-60 Mexico are the new Centrobasket champions. They overcame Puerto Rico in front of the home crowd in Nayarit to clinch the title. Gustavo Ayon (208-C/F-85, agency: Duran International, college: San Jose St.) was pivotal with 16 points and 16 rebounds to pace the winners. Mexico eked out a 16:14 lead after the first frame. Puerto Rico erased the deficit in the second period. The visitors jumped at 35:27 halftime lead. But Mexico responded with a strong 25:13 run in the third term to establish a 52:48 advantage at the final intermission. Mexico went on a 22:12 run in the fourth period and sealed the winning outcome. Francisco Cruz (190-G-89, college: Wyoming) had 16 points, while Roman Martinez added 14 points for the winners. Michael Rosario (190-G-90, college: Florida) responded with 14 points for Puerto Rico. Ramon Clemente (200-PF-85, college: Wichita St.) had 13 points in the loss.

Dominican Republic - Cuba 75-66 Dominican Republic clinch Bronze at the Centrobasket 2014. They posted a 75:66 win over Cuba in the game for 3-4 places. Cuba started better and allowed the opponents to score only 17 points in the first and then the second quarters. They grabbed 37:34 halftime advantage, however Dominican Republic dominated the third period. The latter needed a 31-14 surge to secure the victory. Edward Santana (203-F-80) top-scored for the winners with 16 points. James Maye (201-G/F-81, college: NC-Greensboro) nailed 12, whilst Victor Liz (188-SG-88) added 11. Joan Luis Haiti (200-C-82) and Orestes Torres (203-C-87) produced 12 points each in a loss, while Osmel Olivia posted 11. Both teams will head to 2015 Fiba Americas Championship.

Dominican Republic - Puerto Rico 73-78 Puerto Rico beat the defending champions to enter the Final of the Centrobasket 2014. They needed a 78:73 win over Dominican Republic in the Semifinal clash. Puerto Rico won the first period 16-15 and increased to 5 points at the halftime. Dominican Republic bounced back with a 23-17 run in the third period, but could not seal the victory. Puerto Rico needed a 27-21 rally to seal the victory. Jose Juan Barea (183-PG-84, college: Northeastern) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Devon Collier (203-F, college: Oregon St.) nailed 15. Michael Rosario (190-G-90, college: Florida) followed them with 9 points in a win. Edward Santana (203-F-80) notched 14 points and Victor Liz (188-SG-88) posted 13. Elpidio Fortuna had 12, whilst James Maye brought 9.
Mexico - Cuba 85-70 Gustavo Ayon (208-C/F-85, agency: Duran International, college: San Jose St.) leads Mexico to the Final of the Centrobasket 2014. He erupted with 28 points and 15 rebounds as Mexico overcame Cuba 85:70. Mexico started the game with a massive 25-12 run and dominated the court. Cuba however reduced to 10 points at the half-time after a 20-17 rally in the second frame. Another 24-19 run allowed Mexico to take 15-point advantage after 30 minutes and a ticket to the final. Francisco Cruz (190-G-89, college: Wyoming) scored 15 points in a win and Hector Hernandez delivered 14. Osmel Oliva (178-PG-87) ended up with 15 points in a loss and Javier Justiz chipped in 12. Tomorrow Mexico will take on Puerto Rico in the Final game, while Cuba will play against Dominican Republic in the game for the 3rd place. All four teams already secured a place at the 2015 Fiba Americas Championship.

Dominican Republic - Cuba 76-72 Dominican Republic wins Group B at the 2014 Centrobasket. They overcame Cuba 76:72 and remained undefeated with a 4-0 record. Cuba meanwhile suffered their first loss and finished second with a 3-1 record. Both teams advanced to the Semifinals as well as to 2015 Fiba Americas Championship. Both teams entered the game undefeated. Cuba started with a 24-20, but then Dominican Republic replied with a 17-14 run in the second frame for 37:38 at the halftime. The latter needed a 22-16 rally int he last stanza for the final result. Eloy Vargas (210-F-88, agency: Duran International, college: Kentucky) top-scored for the winners with 13 points, while Elpidio Fortuna (188-G-85) and Victor Liz had 12 each. William Granda (189-SG-85) ended up with 16 points and Jasul Rivero as well as Osmel Oliva (178-PG-87) produced 13 each in a loss. Javier Justis followed them with 10 points in defeat.
Panama - Jamaica 62-55 Panama finished the tournament with the win over Jamaica at Centrobasket 2014. They posted a 62:55 victory in Day 5 to finish with 2-2 record on the third place in Group B. Jamaica meanwhile ended up with a 1-3 record in the fourth place. Both teams exchanged 16-14 wins in the first two periods for 30:30 at the half-time. Panama later managed to seal a 12-10 run for 2-point lead after 30 minutes of the game. The latter needed a 20-15 rally in the last stanza for the final result. Joel Munoz (179-PG-80) paced all the winners with 13 points and Michael Hicks (194-G/F-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) netted 10. Josimar Ayarza produced 9, whilst Jamaal Levy added 8. Akeem Scott (185-G-83, agency: Blacktop Management, college: High Point) finished the game with 14 points in a loss and Efejuku brought 11.

El Salvador - U.S. Virgin Islands 70-105 Johnathan Gray leads Virgin Islands past El Salvador in the last game for both teams at Centtrobasket 2014. He nailed 26 points in a 105:70 win as his side finished with a 2-2 record in Group A n the third place. El Salvador ended up 5th with a 0-4 record. Virgin Islands erupted with a 32-13 surge in the first period and never looked behind after. They added massive 30-19 burst in the second frame and enjoyed a 62:22 advantage at the halftime. Moreover the latter won the third period 25-16 and did not mind 18-22 in the last frame. Aaron Brown (196-F-92) delivered 15 points for the winners and Cuthbert Victor (197-F-83, college: Murray St.) notched 14. Alejandro Arias (178-G-92) scored 16 points in the losing effort and Carlos Arias (200-F/C-89) as well as Nefi Perdomo nailed 13 apiece. Salvador Bandek produced 12 points in a loss.

Puerto Rico meanwhile suffered their first loss and finished second with a 3-1 record. Both teams advanced to the Semifinals of the tournament as well as 2015 Fiba Americas Championship. Puerto Rico started the game with a 19-15 run and added 16-5 rally in the second period. Mexico however needed a strong second half and clinched the victory. They produced a 23-20 run in the third period and finished the game with a 22-10 surge in the last stanza. Cuba - Costa Rica 72-67 Cuba open Day 4 with the win over Costa Rica at the Centrobasket 2014. Cube improved to 3-0 record in Group B after a 72:67 win. Costa Rica meanwhile fell at 0-4 record. Cuba erupted with a 24-10 surge in the start of the game, while Costa Rica replied with a 22-14 run in the second period. Cuba needed a 23-20 rally in the third period to take 61:52 lead after 30 minutes of the game. Costa Rica tried hard to recover however after 15-11 run in the last stanza managed to reduce to final 5-point loss. Joan Luis Haiti (200-C-82) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lisvan Valdez (195-G/F-88) and Osmel Oliva netted 14 each. Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) ended up with 20 points in a loss and Carlos Quesada produced 15. U.S. Virgin Islands - Bahamas 80-79 Virgin Islands celebrate the initial win in Nayarit at the Centrobasket 2014. They grabbed a narrow 80:79 win over Bahamas and improved to 1-2 record. The later meanwhile fell at 1-3 record. It was one of them most thrilling games at the tournament. At first Bahamas grabbed 22-20 lead after the first ten minutes, while Virgin Islands responded with a 20-19 rally in the second frame. The latter dominated the third period and after 26-17 run had 8-point advantage entering the last period. Bahamas bounced back with a 21-14 run, but could not get the win. Cuthbert Victor (197-F-83, college: Murray St.) stepped up with 15 points and Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida) scored 11. Johnathan Gray followed them with 10 points in a win. Mychel Thompson finished the game with 18 points in a loss. Rainer Hield (193-G-93) delivered 16, whilst Kadeem Coleby had 10.

Mexico won 107:64 and advanced to the Semifinals with one more game remaining. El Salvador lost their third consecutive game and dropped at 0-3 record. Mexico posted a 23-16 lead in the first period and never looked behind. They added 24-11 run in the second frame and enjoyed a 47:27 half-time advantage. Moreover Mexico erupted with a 38-16 burst in the third period and reached three-digit number in the fourth quarter. Paul Stoll (180-PG-85) paced all the winners with 18 points, while Rodrigo Zamora and Gustavo Ayon netted 12 each. Dominican Republic - Panama 71-56 The defending champions rout Panama in Day 3 of the Centrobasket 2014. Dominican Republic posted a 71:56 win for a 2-0 record in Group B. Panama meanwhile fell at 1-2 record. First two quarters were similar, but brought the carousel in the game. At first Dominican Republic erupted with a 25-4 start, but then Panama replied with a 31-6 burst in the second frame. In the second half Dominican Republic dominated the court and posted two victories in the half for the final result. James Maye (201-G/F-81, college: NC-Greensboro) led the way with 16 points and Elpidio Fortuna (188-G-85) notched 15. Camacho Eloy delivered 14, whilst Santana Edward had 12. Danilo Pinnock (196-G-83, college: G.Washington) ended up with 17 points in the losing effort. Hicks Michael chipped in 14 and Ayarza Josimar shot 10.
Costa Rica - Jamaica 56-64 Jamaica open Day 3 with the win over Costa Rica at Centrobasket 2014. Jamaica grabbed a 64:56 victory for 1-1 record in Group B. Costa Rica meanwhile fell at 0-3 record. Costa Rica surprised the opponents with a 15-14 lead in the start of the game and led 1 point at the half-time. The third period was however decisive in the game as Jamaica erupted with a 19-5 surge to take a 46:33 advantage after 30 minutes of the game. Costa Rica managed to win the last stanza 23-18 and reduced to final 8 points. Oritseweyinmi Efejuku (196-G-86, college: Providence) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Garfield Blair (196-G-87, college: Stetson) netted 14. El Salvador stayed tough in the first ten minuted but allowed the favorites to take 17-16 lead. Later on Puerto Rico pushed the tempo for good and sealed another victory. They posted a 22-15 in the second frame and added 24-17 rally in the third quarter. Moreover Puerto Rico exploded with a 30-10 burst in the last stanza to clinch the third straight victory. El Salvador meanwhile played their first game. Bahamas opened the game with a 21-11 surge and never looked behind after. They added a 16-14 rally in the second frame and led 37:25 at the half-time. The third period was a nightmare for El Salvador that posted 5 points and got 32 from the opponents. Moreover Bahama added 27-17 rally in the last stanza for an easy win. But they triggered a 25:6 run in the second period to secure a 39:17 halftime advantage. Dominican Republic stayed in charge throughout the third term. They went on a 27:10 run in the quarter and never looked back on the way to the victory. Victor Liz (188-SG-88) had 12 points, while Orlando Sanchez and Eloy Vargas netted 10 points each in the victory. Isaac Conejo (182-G-94) responded with 17 points for Costa Rica. Puerto Rico lived up to the challenge scoring 23 points in the final stanza and sealing a comfortable victory.
