U17 South American Championship - Gameday 5: Argentina gets second straight title, Venezuela second, Uruguay third
Guanare, Portuguesa.- The NT of Argentina surprised Venezuela in
the final matchday of the U17 South American Championship for Men by winning the
gold medal and repeating the honors they had achieved in the edition of
Barquisimeto 2005. Meanwhile, Uruguay also took the opportunity and defeated
Brazil in the third place game, leaving them out of the upcoming Americas Cup of
2008 and, therefore, out of the race for a spot in the U19 World Cup of 2009.

U17 South American Championship (Gameday 4): Argentina and Venezuela to the Finals
Guanare, Portuguesa.- The NT of Venezuela, kept its undefeated
path into the Finals of the XX South American Championship at Ciudad de Guanare
Gymnasium in Guanare, Portuguesa state, by leaving behind Uruguay. Argentina
surprised Brazil in a tight match and will get a chance to defend their chrown
against the hosts. Meanwhile, Peru defeated Chile to earn fifth place in the
tournament and Colombia did the same over Ecuador to get the seventh spot.

U17 South American Championship (Gameday 3): Venezuela and Brazil undefeated, Uruguay to Semifinals
Guanare, Portuguesa.- The NT of Venezuela, under coach
Carlos Gil , and Brazil won their respective groups of the first round with
undefeated records of 3-0, by winning against Argentina and Ecuador,
respectively. Uruguay had to suffer and come back from a bad start to earn the
fourth and final spot to the Semifinals over Chile, who will now fight for fifth
place against Peru, a team that surprised Colombia.

U17 South American Championship (Gameday 2): Venezuela crushes Colombia, Brazil and Argentina showed power
Guanare, Portuguesa.- The NT of Venezuela had another
spectacular display against Colombia, a team they defeated by
110-36. Meanwhile, Argentina had no mercy against Peru (99-35),
so they both advanced to the Semifinals as the best located
teams of Group A. Meanwhile, Brazil dominated Uruguay 74-45 and
Chile won against Ecuador 78-39. Chile and Uruguay will define
the second best in Group B on Gameday 3.

Guanare, Portuguesa.- The NT of Venezuela had no trouble
to run over Peru, 101-26, in the first matchday of the U17 South American
Championship for Men, which started on Thursday afternoon at Ciudad de Guanare
Gymnasium of Guanare, Venezuela. Meanwhile, the title holders of Argentina
defeated Colombia 87-36, Uruguay got the triumph over Ecuador 68-54 and Brazil
easily won against Chile, 84-57.
