Brazil conquer the title in Buenos Aires- April 10, 2022
FINALBrazil - Argentina 49-46Brazil claimed the title in Buenos Aires. They held off Argentina in the title game. Taissa Nascimento (178-SF-2005) produced 20 points and 12 rebounds for the champions. Argentina and Brazil stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. They were tied at 19 heading into the second half. Brazil used a 15-9 run in the third term to clear off. Argentina dropped 18 points in the fourth period but could not recover from the deficit as Brazil drove to the title. Giovanna Rocha (187-C-2005) had 11 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Alma Bourgarel (160-G-2006) replied with 13 points for Argentina. 3-4 PlaceUruguay - Colombia 43-60Colombia earned the third place as they rallied past Uruguay in the consolation final. Uruguay recorded a 27-23 halftime lead. But Colombia used a massive 37-16 run in the second half to secure the victory. Juliana Gomez (183-SG-2004) had 15 points, while Valeria Rodriguez (SG-2008) added 11 points in the victory. Pierina Rossi (171-F-2004) answered with 18 points for Uruguay. 5-6 PlaceEcuador - Chile 59-28Ecuador thumped Chile to earn the fifth position in the final ladder. Ecuador led by 5 points at the big break 19-14. They went on a 25-3 run in the fourth period to get away with an easy win. Gia Zambrano (175-F-2005) and Nahomy Nazareno (185-C-2007) finished with 10 points each for Ecuador. Martina Orellana (170-PG-2004) replied with 11 points for Chile. 7-8 PlaceVenezuela - Bolivia 57-68Bolivia finished their campaign on a high note. They nipped Venezuela to earn the seventh overall position. Bolivia enjoyed a narrow 30-29 halftime lead. They went on a 21-13 rally in the fourth term to snatch the win. Florencia Coppe finished with 18 points, while Sarahi Velazco (169-SG-2004) added 17 points for the winners.
