USA - Canada 84-60
USA captured the title in Mexico City. They edged Canada in the Final. Nalyssa Smith (190-F-00) provided 18 points and 6 rebounds to pace the champions. Canada grabbed an 18:14 lead after ten minutes. But USA went on a 25:13 run in the second term to take a 39:31 halftime lead. USA followed with a 25:9 run in the third term to clear off for good. Christyn Williams (180-G/F-00) had 11 points in the victory. Christina Morra (190-C-00) answered with 13 points for Canada.
3-4 Place
Argentina - Colombia 62-52
Argentina held off Colombia to step onto the pedestal. Camila Suarez (178-SG-00) scored 15 points to lead the effort. Argentina accumulated a 36:22 halftime lead. They stretched the lead at 16-point mark at the final break and marched to the win at the end. Florencia Chagas (180-SG-01) had 11 points in the victory. Mayra Caicedo (175-PG-00) replied with 20 points for Colombia.

5-6 Place
Puerto Rico - Chile 61-54
Sheslanie Laureno delivered 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead Puerto Rico past Chile in the game for the fifth place. Chile led by a single point at the first break. Puerto Rico however went on a 42:29 rally in the next two quarters to spur ahead. Chile narrowed the distance in the final period but could not avoid the loss. Nadechka Reyes (165-PG-00) had 15 points in the win. Fernanda Ovalle (175-G-03) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds for Chile.

7-8 Place
El Salvador - Mexico 61-83
Mexico finished the tournament on a high note. They cruised past El Salvador to gain the 7th place. Karla Martinez (180-F-00) stepped up with 29 points and 8 caroms for the hosts. Mexico accumulated a 40:26 halftime lead. Mexico went on a 20:13 run in the third frame to clear off for good. Jasmine Rodriguez (165-G/F-02) banked in 16 points for El Salvador.



Canada and USA advance into title game in Mexico City - Aug 7, 2018

SEMIS
Argentina - Canada 71-77
Canada overcame a fierce opposition from Argentina to snatch a narrow win. Christina Morra (190-C-00) nailed 15 points and collected 14 rebounds to lead the winners. Canada piled up a 36:31 halftime lead. They stretched the margin at 8-point mark heading into the fourth period. Argentina drained 24 points in the final quarter but could not avoid the loss. Taya Hanson (175-G-00) and Carly Ahlstrom (180-G-00) delivered 13 points each for the winners. Florencia Chagas (180-SG-01) led Argentina with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

USA - Colombia 83-47
USA stormed past Colombia to reach the championship game in Mexico City. Rhyne Howard (188-G-00) and Ashley Joens (180-G-00) scored 14 points each for the winners. USA led by just a single point at the first break 19:18. However they went on a strong 23:8 run in the second period to ensure a 16-point halftime lead. USA maintained the pressure throughout the second half and cruised to the win. Jenna Brown (168-PG-00) had 17 points to lead the North American team. Maria Alvarez (168-SG-01) answered with 19 points for Colombia.



USA, Canada, Argentina and Colombia reach semifinal stage in Mexico City - Aug 6, 2018

Argentina - Mexico 89-62
Argentina upset hosting Mexico to enter the semifinal stage at the tournament. Florencia Chagas (180-SG-01) had 24 points to pace the effort. Argentina led from start to finish in this one. They established a 39:26 halftime lead. Argentina went on to score 50 points in the second half and raced to the win. Sofia Acevedo (167-PG-01) had 16 points for Argentina. Jessica Paz (00) replied with 11 points for Mexico.

USA - El Salvador 87-27
USA thrashed El Salvador to advance into the semifinal stage in Mexico City. Olivia Nelson-Ododa (193-C-00) provided 14 points and 8 rebounds in the win. USA grabbed a 51:19 halftime lead. They held El Salvador to just 8 points in the second half and cruised to the win. Nazahrah Hillmon-Baker (185-F-00) delivered 13 points for the winners. Kimberly Villalobos (188-C-00) answered with 7 points for El Salvador.

Chile - Canada 52-98
Canada bruised Chile en route to the semifinal stage. Christina Morra (190-C-00) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge. Canada accumulated a 22:7 lead after the first term. They ignited a massive 59:23 run in the second half to coast to the win. Taya Hanson (175-G-00) had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Puerto Rico - Colombia 58-85
Colombia edged Puerto Rico to reach the semis. Natalia Pineda (00) fired 29 points to pace the winners. Colombia eked out a 34:32 halftime lead. They followed with a commanding 51:26 rally after the big break to ice the victory. Maria Alvarez (168-SG-01) had 18 points for the winners. Nairimar Vargas (183-SF-00) answered with 15 points for Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico - USA 59-103
USA coasted past Puerto Rico to gain the third straight win at the championship. USA fired 50 points in the first half to take a 17-point lead. USA unleashed 28 points in the third term to clear off for good. Nalyssa Smith (190-F-00) provided 24 points, while Ashley Joens (180-G-00) and Rhyne Howard (188-G-00) chipped in 11 points each for the winners. Julianna Rosario (173-SF-00) posted 17 points for Puerto Rico.

Colombia - El Salvador 80-48
Colombia rallied past El Salvador to occupy the second place in Group B. Mayra Caicedo (175-PG-00) stepped up with 22 points and 6 steals for the winning side. Colombia recorded a 37:24 halftime lead. They ignited a 43:24 second half run to ease to the win. Natalia Pineda (00) tossed in 15 points for Colombia. Fabiola Garcia (163-PG-00) answered with 12 points for El Salvador.

Canada - Mexico 65-54
Roaxane Makolo scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Canada rallied past Mexico to stay undefeated. Canada went on a 34:19 halftime lead. Mexico narrowed the distance in the second half but came up short of victory at the end. Taya Hanson (175-G-00) had 11 points for the winning side. El Salvador - Canada 52-81
Canada coasted past El Salvador for the second consecutive win in Mexico City. Niyah Becker (180-G/F-00) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Canada accumulated a 46:20 halftime advantage. They boosted the gap at 32-point mark at the final break and coasted to the win afterwards. Mexico - Colombia 78-88
Colombia upset hosting Mexico for the first win in Group B. Mayra Caicedo (175-PG-00) scored 30 points to lead the effort. Mexico posted a 24:13 lead ten minutes into the game. But Colombia dropped 28 points in the second term to pull within two points. They ignited a 47:35 second half run to rally to the victory. Maria Alvarez (168-SG-01) had 22 points for the winners. Adriana Salinas (181-PF-01) had 22 points and 7 rebounds for Mexico.

USA - Argentina 87-42
USA cruised past Argentina to gain the first win in Mexico City. Aijha Blackwell (183-G-00) and Nalyssa Smith (190-F-00) scored 13 points each for the winners. USA posted a 38:15 halftime lead. USA unloaded 49 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Camila Suarez (178-SG-00) had 8 points for Argentina.

Puerto Rico - Chile 74-69
Puerto Rico held off Chile to open win count in Group A. Julianna Rosario (173-SF-00) provided 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the winners. Chile enjoyed a narrow 37:36 halftime lead. Puerto Rico however used a 21:12 run in the third term to surge ahead. They protected the lead throughout the final period and raced to the win. Sheslanie Laurenano had 14 points for the winners. Jovanka Ljubetic (178-G-00) answered with 17 points for Chile.

Group B
Colombia - Canada 49-73
Canada outgunned Colombia to celebrate the first win in Group B. Christina Morra (190-C-00) stepped up with 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. Canada accumulated a comfortable 42:20 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a convincing win. Taya Hanson (175-G-00) provided 14 points and 9 rebounds in the victory. Maria Alvarez responded with 19 points for Colombia.

Mexico - El Salvador 88-48
Mexico rallied past El Salvador for the first victory in Group B. The hosts were paced by 14 points from Adriana Salinas (181-PF-01). Mexico used a strong 31:12 game opening to set the tone. They followed with a 20:6 run in the third term to run away for good. Jessica Paz (00) and Katia Gallegos (166-SF-01) added 13 points each for Mexico. Kimberly Villalobos (188-C-00) answered with 18 points and 11 rebounds for El Salvador.
