Mexico celebrate title in San Juan

Puerto Rico - Mexico 56-61 Mexico celebrated Centrobasket title. They topped Puerto Rico in the Final. Irais Aguilera (179-PF-02) notched 17 points to lead the winners. Mexico recorded a 28:27 halftime lead. They extended the lead at 4-point mark at the final break. Mexico limited the hosts to just 12 points in the fourth stanza and raced to the trophy. Mariana Valenzuela (184-PF-03) had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Mexico. Nangely Garcia (188-F-02) and Nina De Leon (165-G-03) replied with 15 points each for Puerto Rico.
3-4 Place
Dominican Republic - Guatemala 55-40 Dominican Republic outscored Guatemala to step onto the pedestal in San Juan. Dominican Republic clinched the Bronze medals. They led by two points at the interval. Dominican Republic used a 21:3 run in the third term to clear off for good. Ashley Baez (163-G-02) and Glorivel Rodriguez (163-PG-04) produced 9 points each for Dominican Republic. Natalie Larranaga (165-F-02) answered with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Guatemala.
5-6 Place
Costa Rica - Bahamas 73-50 Costa Rica finished fifth in San Juan. They cruised past Bahamas in the final game at the tournament. Costa Rica built a 42:22 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Ariana Mora notched 19 points and 13 rebounds for Costa Rica. Alison Torres (165-F-02) added 11 points in the victory. Antonicia Moultrie (183-SG-05) and Michell Butler tossed in 12 points each for Bahamas.
7-8 Place
El Salvador - Barbados 79-30 El Salvador knocked down Barbados to earn the 7th position in Puerto Rico. Keylin Murcia (161-SG) came up with 18 points and 9 steals for the winners. El Salvador recorded a 44:14 halftime lead. They held Barbados to just 16 points in the second half and marched to the win. Sofia Alfaro (152-G-03) had 17 points for El Salvador. Zahra Ashby (170-G-02) replied with 10 points for Barbados.
