Sydney Kings (NBL) signed 28-year-old American (who also has a Brazilian passport) center Tim Soares (211cm-107kg-1997, college: Master's) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. It is his comeback to Kings as he has played here before. Last season, he played at Koshigaya Alphas in the Japanese B1 League, where in 58 games he had 13.9ppg, 6.2rpg, and 2.4apg. He was named League Player of the Week during that season. In the previous (2023-24) season, he played for another Japanese team, Dolphins (B1 League). Soares has been regularly called up to the Brazilian Senior National Team since 2021.
Soares is a very experienced player. He has played on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and North America). Soares has previously played professionally in Israel (Ironi Nes Ziona), Puerto Rico (Criollos and Mets), Turkey (Samsun), and NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks).
He won an Australian NBL championship title in 2023. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention in 2022.
Soares graduated from Master's University in 2020 and it'll be his sixth season as a pro player.
