Look at great performance of Ody Oguama (13 points), Jacob Evans III (3 points), and Adam Hrycaniuk (2 points).
#1. In a recent game in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga, the talented 26-year-old forward Ody Oguama, who stands at 6'9'' and graduated from Cincinnati in 2024, showcased his skills as a champion by leading Dziki Warszawa to a 92-78 victory over the closely-ranked Arka team with a record of 18-12. Oguama contributed significantly to his team's success by scoring 13 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. Dziki Warszawa, currently fifth in the league standings, secured their fifth consecutive win, thanks in part to Oguama's impressive performance on the court. Oguama's consistent contributions throughout the season are evident in his average of 6.9 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game in the 39 games he has played so far this year. Additionally, it is worth noting that Oguama, a naturalized Nigerian, continues to make a significant impact on his team's success with his remarkable talent and dedication as a finalist.
#2. Jacob Evans III, a 28-year-old guard standing at 6'5'' and an alumnus of Bearcats from 2018, played a pivotal role in helping his team win the AAC Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in the Czech Republic, he showcased his talent for BK KVIS Pardubice in a recent game against league leaders Nymburk, where they secured a convincing 86-57 victory. Despite scoring only 3 points, Evans III made a significant impact by grabbing 9 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. The game, which featured two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-8, highlighted Evans III's contribution to BK KVIS Pardubice's success as they currently hold the second position with a record of 27-9. This season marks his first with the team, and his performance against Nymburk demonstrated his dedication and skill on the court, solidifying his status as a true champion. Throughout the season, Evans III has maintained an average of 3.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game in the 27 games played so far. His consistent contributions and impact on the team's performance further establish him as a valuable asset and a formidable finalist.
#3. Experienced Polish champion Adam Hrycaniuk, a 42-year-old center who graduated from Cincinnati in 2008 and currently plays professionally in Poland, recently faced off against the aforementioned Ody Oguama in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga in their last game. Despite his efforts, Hrycaniuk could not lead AMW Arka Gdynia (18-12) to victory over Dziki (18-12). This game did not showcase one of his best performances, as he scored just 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. The final score saw AMW Arka Gdynia losing 78-92 to the higher-ranked (#5) Dziki. This marks Hrycaniuk's seventh season with the team. In the match against Dziki, the champion put up an impressive performance by scoring 2 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. However, despite his individual contributions, his team was unable to secure the win. Throughout this season, Hrycaniuk has been averaging 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in the 37 games played so far.
#4. Robert Phinisee, a 6'1'' guard and Bearcats alumni from the class of 2023, showcased his skills in a recent TBL game where his team, the 4 Bears Roar, faced a tough challenge against the Potawatomi Fire. Despite Phinisee's impressive performance, scoring 25 points, delivering 7 assists, and making 3 steals in 42 minutes of play, the 4 Bears Roar suffered a significant 120-100 defeat on their home court. This defeat was a setback for the team, but Phinisee's individual contribution on the court was noteworthy, especially considering he is only in his third season of professional basketball. Throughout the season, Phinisee has maintained high statistical performance, averaging 17.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game over 17 appearances. Despite the team's recent loss, Phinisee's consistent performance highlights his potential as a key player for the 4 Bears Roar.
#5. Landers Nolley II, a 6'7'' guard who graduated from Cincinnati in 2023 and received the All-AAC First Team award that year, currently plays professionally in Canada. In a recent game, despite his stellar performance, Nolley II couldn't prevent the Brampton Honey Badgers (7-3) from suffering a heavy 101-84 defeat on the road against the River Lions. As the top scorer for Brampton with 20 points, Nolley II also contributed 5 rebounds and 9 assists in 34 minutes of play, showcasing his skills in only his third season in professional basketball. His impressive showing included a notable performance against Niagara where he scored 20 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and provided 9 assists, although his team ultimately fell short. Throughout the season, Nolley II has maintained strong individual statistics, averaging 18.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in the two games played so far.
#6. Jeremiah Davenport, a 6'7'' guard and 26-year-old Razorbacks alum from 2024, previously played for Cincinnati between 2019 and 2023 before starting his professional career in Mexico. In the recent game, despite Davenport's standout performance, Angeles de Ciudad de Mexico (20-20) couldn't secure a victory. They suffered a tough 96-76 defeat against the leading Astros in Guadalajara. Davenport showcased his skills by being the top scorer of the game with 24 points and contributing 6 rebounds during his 33 minutes on the court. Despite his impressive efforts, Angeles couldn't overcome the Astros and ended up losing the game. Throughout the season, Davenport has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.3 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game across 52 games. His consistent performance on the court has been notable, even though his team faced a challenging defeat in the recent match against the Astros.
#7. Tre Scott, a 29-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' who graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2020, currently competes professionally in Canada. Known for his exceptional skills, he was honored with the All-AAC Most Improved Player of the Year award during his final year in college. Recently, Scott showcased his talent by leading the Winnipeg Sea Bears to a resounding 92-72 victory over the Surge in a Canadian Elite Basketball League game on a Friday night. During the game, Scott displayed his prowess by scoring 11 points, securing 4 rebounds, and contributing 1 assist in 22 minutes of play. His remarkable performance was instrumental in helping his team emerge victorious against Calgary, further solidifying his reputation as a champion. So far this season, Scott has been maintaining an average of 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game across three games. His consistency and impactful presence on the court continue to contribute significantly to his team's success as they aim to secure their position as finalists in the league.
