Centauros de Apure won its first game of the 2012 Club's South American basketball League defeating Mavort 84-73 in the Luis Leoro Franco Arena.
The Venezuelan team scored 30 points during the last part of the game to win versus the Ecuador representative.
The leader of Centauros de Apure was Clarence Matthews (201-F-83, college: Tennessee St.) with 20 points and 11 rebounds followed by both Nestor Colmenares (203-F-87, college: Campbellsville) and Tulio Cobos (196-F-86, college: Northeastern St.) with 16 points each. Despite of the defeated Mavort has its best player on Elys Guzman (206-F/C-82, college: Bemidji St.) with 28 points helped by Raul Cardenas (190-G-82, college: Faulkner) with 9 points and 10 assist.
