Argentina earned the title at the 2014 ODESUR Games in Santiago. They held off hosting Chile in the Final on Sunday. Sthefany Thomas (175-F/G-89, college: Clemson) came up with 32 points to pace the winners. Argentina built a 24:14 lead after the opening quarter. Chile narrowed the gap in the second period. The hosts pulled within 5 points 29:34. Chile fired on full throttle in the third term. They dropped 26 points in the quarter and surged ahead for a 55:51 advantage at the final break. Argentina however erased the deficit in the fourth term. They forced the game into overtime. Argentina went on a 14:9 surge in the fourth period and sealed the winning outcome. Andrea Boquete Manna (183-F/C-90) produced 16 points, while Carolina Sanchez added 10 points and 12 boards in the win. Ziomara Morrison (193-C-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 34 points and 19 rebounds for Chile. Barbara Cousino (178-F-96) had 14 points in the loss.
Argentina finish preliminary round undefeated - Mar 16, 2014
Argentina finished the ODESUR Games preliminary round with a perfect record. They outgunned hosting Chile 107:57 for the fifth straight victory. Seven players scored in double digits for Argentina. Victoria Llorente (184-F/C-96) stepped up with 16 points and 10 boards in the win. Argentina secured a 55:32 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Chile and Argentina will meet again tonight to decide on the winners of the tournament. Colombia prevailed against Paraguay 92:60 to improve at 3-2 record. Maria Delgado (96) posted 18 points to pace the winners. Jenifer Munoz (170-G-91) was responsible for 11 points in the victory. Maria Mercado (163-PG-89) responded with 13 points for Paraguay. Ecuador celebrated the first win at the tournament as they held off Bolivia 66:58. Marorie Caicedo chipped in 19 points for Ecuador. Dayanna Salcedo added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the winning effort. Mirian Justiniano answered with 17 points for Bolivia.
COLOMBIA WOMEN TEAM DEFEATED BOLIVIA IN ODESUR - Mar 14, 2014
The 44 points and 19 rebounds combined of Yaneth Arias and Tathiana Mosquera (196-C/F-89) drived Colombia to get its first victory in the Odesur games defeting Bolivia 83 59. Colombia had a strong start reaching a 15 points lead at the end of the first quarter enough to manage the game and reach the victory, Colombia also outrebounded the Bolivan team getting 42 total rebounds. Colombia will face Ecuador tonight trying to get the bronze medal.

COLOMBIA WOMEN NATIONAL TEAM FALL AGAINST CHILE IN ODESUR - Mar 13, 2014
Colombia women national team fall against Chile on its second game at Odesur, the games was full of emotions, no one of the teams wants to give up , Chile won by 1 the first quarter and Colombia by 1 the second, to arrive tied to the half, Yaneth Arias (184-F-82) in Colombia and Ziomara Morrison in Chile was showing the higher level that puts them among the best in the continent. The second half has almost the same history, Colombia reached a 1 point lead finishing the first, but the fouth quarter was for Chile that looked with more energy to close the game that enters to the final minute 65 65 thanks to a two pointer of the Colombian Palacio, Colombia got the possesion back with 31 seconds in the clock and missed twoo straght shots after a Yaneth Arias offensive rebound, Chiles Contreras was sent to the frer throw line with 5 seconds left , made the first and missed the second but then Colombia failed in the rebound got by the chilean Morrison who was fouled and made one of two without time in the clock to give the victory to Chile,

COLOMBIA WOMEN NATIONAL TEAM START FALLING IN ODESUR - Mar 12, 2014
Colombia sent its women national team to Chile to play in the basketball tournament of the Odesur Games, the national team has a mix of young and veteran players with Yaneth Arias (184-F-82) the best colombian player in the last years leading the team. Colombia womens roster:
