Brazil earned the second win at the 2013 Marchand Cup. They held off Canada to finish the tournament at 2-2 record. Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports) recorded 19 points to pace the Latin American team. Brazil snatched an 18:14 lead after ten minutes of action. Canada denied the deficit in the second frame. The North American side tied things up at 33 after twenty minutes. Brazil retained the lead in the third term. They accumulated a 54:52 advantage before the fourth frame. Brazil unloaded 23 points in the final period and escaped with a tough win at the end. Puerto Rico finished their 2013 Marchand Cup campaign on a high note. They overcame Argentina to earn the top position. Puerto Rico celebrated victories in all four games in San Juan. Jose Juan Barea (181-PG-84, college: Northeastern) stepped up with 21 points and 8 assists to lead the winners. Argentina ensured the better start to the game. They accumulated a 19:12 lead ten minutes into the game. Puerto Rico bounced back in the second quarter. The hosts picked up the tempo and surged ahead for a 39:38 halftime lead. Puerto Rico stayed aggressively offensively throughout the third term. The hosts entered the fourth frame up by 8 points 65:57. Puerto Rico and Argentina exchanged baskets throughout the fourth stanza as Puerto Rico rolled to the victory. Daniel Santiago (216-C-76, agency: Priority Sports, college: N.Mexico) finished with 14 points, while John Holland contributed 12 points for the winners. Luis Scola (206-F/C-80) answered with 20 points for Argentina. Juan Gutierrez had 18 points in the defeat.
