Halcones clinch Liga MB Clausura title - Nov 6, 2017

Santa Tecla - Halcones 74-83

Halcones fired past Santa Tecla in Game 4 of the championship series to celebrate the Liga MB Clausura title. Santa Tecla was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Halcones, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Santa Tecla outrebounded Halcones 46-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and Puerto Rican guard Cliff Duran (191-89, agency: Paris Global Sports) who added 11 points and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American point guard Robert Martinez (185-91, college: Our Lady Lake) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Brujoz Izalco celebrated Liga Mayor title. They snatched a tough road win over Isidro Metapan to complete the sweep of the championship series. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Christopher Blake (196-88, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Garland McArthur (197-88, college: Voorhees) contributed with 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Spanish-American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Isidro Metapan. Four Isidro Metapan players scored in double figures.
