#1. Experienced Greek player Nikolaos Stylianou, standing at 6'6'' and aged 37, who graduated from WTAM in 2009 and currently plays professionally in Cyprus, played a pivotal role in Keravnos' recent triumph over closely-ranked Achilleas Kaimakliou (0-1) in the Cypriot ECOMMBX Basket League last Saturday. Stylianou's performance was instrumental in the team's impressive 95-62 victory, as he contributed 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in just 20 minutes of play. This marked his first game of the season for Keravnos, where he has been a standout player for eight years. Stylianou's exceptional display on the court highlighted his prowess as a champion player, showcasing his scoring ability, rebounding skills, and playmaking talent. His valuable contributions were vital in securing the win for his team, which currently holds the fourth position in the league standings. As the season is still in its early stages, there is much anticipation for what lies ahead, with the potential for unexpected outcomes and exciting matchups. It is also noteworthy that Stylianou holds dual American and Greek citizenship, allowing him the flexibility to play as a domestic player in Greece as well. His experience, versatility, and dedication to the sport make him a key asset for Keravnos and a formidable opponent for any team in the league.
#2. Larry Wise, a 6'5'' shooting guard and 26-year-old alum of Buffaloes from 2024, currently playing professionally in Austria, recently showcased his skills on the court. Despite his commendable performance, Wise was unable to lead Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart (1-3) to victory in their latest game against the Kapfenberg Bulls, which ended in a 80-92 loss on the road. Wise stood out as the top scorer of the game, contributing 23 points and securing 7 rebounds in just 32 minutes of play. This remarkable performance is particularly noteworthy considering it is only Wise's third season in professional basketball and his first year with the team. In the match against Kapfenberg, Wise displayed his all-around abilities by not only scoring 23 points but also grabbing 7 rebounds and providing 2 assists. Despite his impressive individual efforts, Oberwart fell short in securing the win. Throughout the season, Wise has maintained high statistics, averaging 24.3 points per game (the second-best in the league), along with 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists in the three games he has played so far. Wise's exceptional performance on the court highlights his potential as a champion player in the making.
