#1. Experienced Nigerian player Stan Okoye, standing at 6'6'' and playing as a small forward, showcased his talent in a recent game for his team Hogsbo in the Swedish Basketligan. Despite being 35 years old, Okoye proved to be a key player in Hogsbo's victory over the closely-ranked Boras with a score of 96-90. In an impressive display, he scored an astounding 27 points in just 27 minutes of play, highlighting his prowess on the court. Having graduated from VMI in 2013 and earned the All-Big South Conference Player of the Year award that same year, Okoye brings a wealth of experience to his team in Sweden. This season marks his first year with Hogsbo, and he has already made a significant impact with his remarkable performance in the game against Boras. Despite Hogsbo currently being placed sixth in the league standings, it is still early in the season, leaving room for changes and surprises. Okoye's skills as a player and his ability to lead his team to victory demonstrate his potential as a true champion. As a naturalized Nigerian, Okoye continues to impress with his contributions on the court, solidifying his position as a finalist in every game he plays.
#2. QJ Peterson, a 6'0'' guard and 31-year-old Keydets alumnus from 2017, is currently playing professionally in Turkey. In a recent game, despite his standout performance, he was unable to help Bordo Sportif Balikesir secure a victory. The team narrowly lost 90-89 on the road to the higher-ranked (#5) Tofas. Peterson showcased his skills by scoring 31 points, making him the top scorer of the game. Additionally, he contributed 4 assists in 32 minutes of play. This game marked his debut for Bordo Sportif Balikesir this season. Despite his impressive performance, including 31 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, Peterson and his team fell short, resulting in a close defeat in the end.
#3. Gregory Parham, a 6'3'' guard who is 27 years old, graduated from the USA in 2023. He previously played for VMI between 2017 and 2021, where he received the All-SoCon Second Team award. Currently, he is playing professionally in Spain. In his most recent game for Coviran Granada, despite his strong performance, the team suffered a 76-82 loss to Gipuzkoa, who are ranked #5. Parham emerged as the second leading scorer for his team, contributing 14 points and 7 assists in 29 minutes of play. This game marked his debut for Coviran Granada this season. Despite his notable efforts, the team fell short in securing the victory against the higher-ranked Gipuzkoa.
