#1. Canadian Kennedy Dickie, a 6'0'' forward aged 24, who graduated from Portland in 2024 and received the All-WCC All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently plays professionally in Australia. Last Saturday, she played a crucial role in the Eltham Wildcats' narrow 82-81 victory over the fourth-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (9-4) in the Australian NBL One North, the second division league. Dickie contributed 9 points in 21 minutes on the court, helping her team secure the win by just one point. With this win, the Eltham Wildcats (11-2) maintain their second-place position in the South group, marking their fifth consecutive victory. Against the Diamond Valley Eagles, Dickie displayed an exceptional performance, scoring 9 points while also grabbing 2 rebounds and providing 1 assist. Her stellar play was pivotal in ensuring the team's success and highlighted her abilities and determination as a champion. Throughout this season, Dickie has been averaging 6.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game in the 10 games she has played so far, showcasing her consistency and contribution to the team's efforts as a finalist.
#2. New Zealand's Emme Shearer, a 24-year-old guard standing at 6'0'' and a Pilots alumna from 2025, played a crucial role in helping her team clinch the New Zealand League Champion title in the same year. Currently, she is showcasing her skills as a professional player in Australia. In a recent game, despite her remarkable performance, Shearer couldn't lift the struggling Kilsyth Lady Cobras (4-9) to victory. The team suffered a tough 84-67 defeat on the road against the formidable Knox Raiders, who hold the impressive #3 spot in the South group standings. Shearer displayed her talent by emerging as the top scorer for her team with 17 points, showcasing her defensive prowess with 3 steals, and maintaining a perfect record at the free-throw line, going 6-for-6 in 28 minutes of play. It is noteworthy that this stellar performance comes in her debut season in the professional basketball arena. Unfortunately, this loss marked the ninth consecutive defeat for the Kilsyth Lady Cobras. Despite Shearer's impressive individual stats, averaging 14.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in the ongoing season, her team has faced challenges in securing victories. In the face of adversity, Shearer continues to exhibit her skills on the court, striving to lead her team to success despite the recent setbacks.
#3. Trista Hull, a former standout player for Portland and a key member of the WCC Regular Season Co-Champion team in 2025, is currently playing professionally in Australia. In a recent game for Kalamunda Eastern Suns, despite her remarkable effort, the team faced a tough defeat against the Hawks. Hull's impressive performance included a double-double, contributing 11 points and 12 rebounds during her 33 minutes on the court. Her exceptional display against Perry Lakes H. showcased her skills once again, with 11 points and 12 rebounds recorded. Although her team didn't emerge victorious, Hull's outstanding efforts did not go unnoticed. She was recognized for her remarkable achievement and awarded the prestigious Triple-Double Badge by eurobasket.com. Throughout the season, Hull has maintained high statistics, averaging 15.8 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game in the four games played. Her consistent performance and valuable contributions make her a standout player in the league.
