#1. Slovakian Matus Hronsky, a 23-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' who graduated from Portland in 2026 and currently plays professionally in Slovakia, showcased his talent in a recent game. Hronsky led Prievidza to a dominant victory over the seventh-ranked Kosice Wolves, with a final score of 104-77 in the Slovakian Tipos Slovenska Basketbalova Liga. Despite playing for only 17 minutes, he managed to score 11 points and secure 6 rebounds, contributing significantly to his team's success on the court. BC Prievidza, with a current record of 2-0, holds the third position in the league standings. However, it is still early in the season, and the competition remains fierce. Hronsky's exceptional performance against Kosice underscored his importance as a key player for his team, demonstrating his skills and determination in securing the victory. Individually, Hronsky has been having an impressive season so far, maintaining high statistics with an average of 16.0 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in the two games he has played. His consistent performance and all-around contributions make him a standout player in the league, positioning him as a champion on the court.
#2. Experienced champion TJ Campbell, a 5'10'' point guard who is 38 years old and an alumnus of the Pilots from 2010, where he received the All-WCC First Team award, is currently playing professionally in Mexico. In a recent match, Campbell, the league leader Soles de Mexicali's top scorer, contributed 17 points in 28 minutes but unfortunately, the team suffered a 84-93 loss to the much lower-ranked (#10) Diablos. Despite Campbell's impressive performance, Soles de Mexicali couldn't secure a victory on the road. This marked the end of the Regular Season, with Campbell concluding his first season with the team. Throughout the season, Campbell has showcased his skills and determination, averaging 8.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in the 21 games he has played so far. Campbell's performance against the Diablos highlighted his scoring ability and playmaking skills, demonstrating his value as a champion player. Though the outcome was not in their favor this time, Campbell's efforts on the court have undoubtedly made an impact on his team's performance throughout the season.
#3. Norwegian Kristian Sjolund, a 6'8'' forward aged 27, who graduated from Portland in 2023 and received the WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention award that year, is currently playing professionally in Germany. In a recent match, Sjolund, despite his commendable performance, was unable to guide the Tigers Tuebingen (1-2) to victory. The team suffered a heavy 85-64 defeat against the formidable Hakro Merlins in Crailsheim. Sjolund emerged as the second-highest scorer for Tuebingen, contributing 12 points and securing 5 rebounds in 23 minutes of play. This season marks Sjolund's debut with the team, and his consistent performances are reflected in his solid statistics of 10.3 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game over three matches.
#4. Danish Jermaine Ballisager-Webb, a 23-year-old center standing at 7'1'' and an alum of the Pilots from 2026, showcased his skills in the recent game for the league underdog Brno. Despite his remarkable performance, Brno, currently standing at 0-5, faced a defeat with a score of 68-83 against the formidable Usti nad Labem, ranked at #4 in the league. Ballisager-Webb emerged as the champion scorer of the game, scoring 16 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in just 29 minutes of play, a commendable feat especially considering it's his debut season in professional basketball. Brno has faced setbacks in all five games of the Regular Season so far. In the game against Usti nad Labem, Ballisager-Webb put on a stellar performance, contributing significantly with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. Despite his outstanding efforts, Brno fell short of victory. Throughout the season, Ballisager-Webb has maintained an impressive individual performance, averaging 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game over the course of five games.
#5. Alec Wintering, a 5'11'' point guard who graduated from Portland in 2017 and received an All-WCC Honorable Mention award that year, is currently playing professionally in Spain. In a recent game, he led Grupo Alega Cantabria Torrelavega to a decisive 88-76 victory over Palma Fibwi, one of the league's weaker teams, in the Spanish Primera FEB (second division). This win contributed to Cantabria's 2-0 record, placing them second in the league standings. Despite it being Wintering's first season with the team, he emerged as the MVP of the game, showcasing his skills and determination as a finalist. During the game, Wintering demonstrated his prowess on the court by scoring 15 points, facilitating 6 assists, and recording 4 steals in just 22 minutes of play. His performance was instrumental in securing the victory for Cantabria. Furthermore, Wintering has been maintaining solid statistics throughout the season, averaging 10.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and an impressive 4.0 steals per game, making him the league's leader in steals. His consistent contributions highlight his potential as a champion in the making.
#6. Nik Raivio, a 6'4'' shooting guard and former Pilots alumni from the class of 2010, currently plays professionally in Italy. In a recent game, Raivio, unfortunately, couldn't lead Piombino to victory against RO Virtus 1960, as his team suffered a crushing defeat by 30 points with a final score of 81-51. Despite the loss, Raivio showcased his skills on the court by contributing 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 20 minutes of play. Throughout the season, Raivio has been a standout performer, consistently putting up impressive numbers. He has been averaging 16.0 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game over the course of two matches, demonstrating his value as a key player for his team. While the team may have faced challenges, Raivio's individual performance has been commendable, showcasing his talent and contribution to the team's efforts on the court.
