Here is the weekly review of the top performing Terrapins alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Experienced champion Alyssa Thomas, a 6'2'' forward who graduated from Maryland in 2014 and received the All-ACC First Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in the WNBA. In a recent game last Friday, Thomas, now 34 years old, showcased her skills for the Phoenix Mercury (3-8) despite their 75-68 road loss to the New York Liberty. Thomas contributed significantly to her team's effort, finishing as the second-best scorer with 15 points while also recording 8 assists and 3 steals in 36 minutes of play. Although Phoenix suffered a defeat, it is essential to remember that this is still early in the season, leaving room for improvement and potential turnarounds. This marks Thomas' first year with the team, and she has been maintaining solid statistics throughout the season, averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.1 assists (ranking third in the league), and 1.8 steals per game. In the recent game against New York, Thomas displayed an impressive performance, exhibiting her scoring ability, playmaking skills, and defensive prowess. Despite her remarkable efforts, her team fell short of securing the victory. With Thomas' talent and contributions, there is optimism for the Phoenix Mercury's future performances as the season progresses.

#2. Diamond Miller, a 25-year-old forward standing at 6'3'' and an alumna of the Terrapins from the class of 2023, currently excels as a professional basketball player in the WNBA. Recently, she proved her prowess on the court by leading the Connecticut Sun to a narrow 84-81 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks. Despite the Sun's challenging 2-9 record this season, Diamond Miller's performance was exceptional as she contributed 12 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists in just 20 minutes of play. Her remarkable display of skill and determination was pivotal in securing the crucial win for her team, solidifying her position as a champion player. Furthermore, Diamond Miller's consistent performance throughout the season is evident from her average of 8.3 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game. Her dedication and talent have undoubtedly made her a valuable asset to the Connecticut Sun, showcasing her potential as a finalist in the league.

#3. Shyanne Sellers, standing tall at 6'2'' and a 23-year-old guard who graduated from Maryland in 2025, received the prestigious Wade Trophy (Player of the Year) Finalist award that year. Currently playing professionally in the UPSHOT league, Sellers showcased her exceptional skills as she led the Jacksonville Waves to a thrilling 90-87 victory over the Greensboro Groove in a recent game. In this intense matchup between two top 4 ranked teams, Sellers truly stood out, earning herself the MVP title for the game. During the game, Sellers delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 17 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, handing out 3 assists, and adding 3 steals in just 33 minutes of play. This remarkable display of talent is made even more impressive by the fact that she is only in her first season of professional basketball. Sellers' contribution was pivotal in securing the victory for her team, highlighting her abilities and solidifying her status as a champion. Despite the Jacksonville Waves holding a somewhat modest 5-2 record this season, Sellers has been consistently delivering solid performances. With an average of 13.9 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game, Sellers has been a key player for her team throughout the season. Her dedication, skill, and determination on the court have undoubtedly established her as a formidable force in the league, proving her worth as a finalist.

#4. Kaila Charles, a 6'1'' forward and 28-year-old alumna of the Terrapins since 2020, is currently playing professionally in the WNBA. She was instrumental in helping her college team secure the title of Big Ten Regular Season Co-Champion during her final year. In a recent Women's National Basketball Association game, she played for the Golden State Valkyries and made a significant impact in their narrow 90-88 victory over the Indiana Fever. Despite the Valkyries having a relatively weak season with a 6-4 record, Charles showcased her skills by scoring 7 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in just 15 minutes of play.
