#1. Dominican Republic's talented player, Esmery Martinez, stands tall at 6'2'' and is a 26-year-old forward who completed her studies at Arizona in 2024. Known for her exceptional skills on the court, she was honored with the Latinbasket.com All-FIBA Centrobasket Women's Championship Best Center award in the same year. Currently playing professionally in Mexico, Martinez showcased her prowess in a recent game where her team, Panteras, secured a convincing victory over the closely-ranked Adelitas with a score of 125-88 in the Mexican Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Feminil, which is the second division league. Martinez's impact was undeniable as she contributed significantly to her team's success, scoring 15 points and making 3 steals in just 19 minutes of play. This remarkable performance is even more impressive considering it is only Martinez's second season in professional basketball. The game between Panteras de Aguascalientes (14-2) and Adelitas was highly anticipated as both teams were among the top 4 ranked teams in the league. With her noteworthy statistics this season averaging 7.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, Martinez continues to prove herself as a standout player. Her stellar performance in the game against Adelitas not only displayed her individual talent but also played a crucial role in leading her team to triumph as the champion.
