Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Every week we bring you a list of the top former Great Danes players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Imani Tate, a 30-year-old guard/forward standing at 5'9" who graduated from Albany in 2017 and received the All-AEC All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game, despite her commendable efforts, Tate could not help Ensino (16-14) secure a win as they were narrowly defeated 73-70 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Valencia. Tate, who is in her first season with the team, displayed a strong performance by contributing 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists during the game, which lasted 37 minutes. Throughout the season, Tate has maintained solid statistics, averaging 13.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game across the 31 games she has played so far. It is worth noting that Tate is a naturalized Virgin Islander, adding to her unique background and experience in the world of professional basketball.
#2. Heather Forster, a 30-year-old champion and Great Danes alumni from 2019, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game, Forster, a finalist in the All-AEC Second Team award, showcased her skills as the second-highest scorer for Logrono with 7 points. Additionally, she contributed 8 rebounds and 4 assists during her 25 minutes on the court. Despite her impressive performance, Logrono, the team she champions, fell short to Celta Zorka with a score of 50-60 at home. Throughout the season, Forster has maintained an average of 5.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and 1.1 steals per game across 31 games. Her dedication and talent on the court continue to make her a valuable asset to her team, even in the face of challenging matchups like the recent game against Celta Zorka.
#3. Experienced Haitian player Jessica Fequiere, a 5'11'' guard/forward who is 32 years old and graduated from Albany in 2018, currently plays professionally in Spain. She was honored with the All-AEC First Team award in 2018. In a recent game, Fequiere, who is a teammate of the aforementioned Imani Tate, played alongside her in the latest Spanish Liga Femenina Endesa match. Unfortunately, Fequiere was unable to make a significant impact in Ensino's recent game against Valencia, which they lost 73-70 on the road. Despite her efforts, scoring only 3 points in 19 minutes of play, she could not help her team secure the victory. Her performance in that game was not one of her best. Despite the outcome, Fequiere showed her skills against Valencia by contributing 3 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Her overall statistics for this year show an average of 8.6 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game in 32 appearances.
