#1. Marvin Jones (7'0''-C-1993, played in 2016-17, plays pro in Greece) contributed to a 2-point PAOK's victory against the closely-ranked AEK Betsson (4-2) 78-76 in the Greek GBL on Sunday night. He scored 10 points in 20 minutes. PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki (6-5) is placed seventh in the GBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Jones averages 8.8ppg and 5.2rpg.
#2. Joirdon Nicholas (6'9''-F-1999, played in 2023-24, plays in Israel) could not help Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan (2-3) in their last game. Despite Nicholas' good performance Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan was crushed89-63 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) H.Gilboa Galil. He was the top scorer with 13 points. Nicholas also added 9 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Nicholas' first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 11.4ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.2spg in five games he played so far. Nicholas is a naturalized Jamaican.
#3. Jeremy Combs (6'7''-F/C-1995, played in 2018-19, currently in Japan) led Earthfriends Tokyo Z to a victory over the closely-ranked Pats Five (4-10) 73-65 in the Japanese B3 League last Sunday. Combs was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds. Combs also added 3 assists in 28 minutes. Earthfriends Tokyo Z (2-10) is placed 13th in the B3 League. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Combs' first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Combs averages 17.8ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg.
#4. PJ Henry (5'10''-PG, played in 2021-24, plays pro in Slovakia) was the major contributor in Komarno's victory against the closely-ranked Handlova (4-4) 92-82 in the Slovakian Tipos SBL on Saturday night. Henry scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. BC Komarno (3-4) is placed sixth in the Tipos SBL. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Henry has very impressive stats this year 17.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.1apg and 1.6spg in seven games.
#5. Jonathan Cisse (6'1''-G-2001, played in 2023-24, plays in Ivory Coast) contributed to a 2-point JCA's victory against the closely-ranked Kriol Star (0-3) 84-82 in the Basketball Africa League in Thursday night's game. Cisse scored 16 points in 22 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. JCA Abidjan (6-0) is placed first in the Basketball Africa League. So far his team won all six games in the Second Stage. They will play only one more game in the Basketball Africa League Second Stage. And that game will be critical. It's Cisse's first year with the team. Cisse has relatively good stats this season 14.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.0apg.
#6. Grayson Carter (6'10''-F, played in 2021-25, currently in Holland) was not able to help Zwolle in their game against Limburg United in the BNXT League. Carter recorded 8 points. His team was crushed by 32 points 94-62. This year he averages 6.7ppg and 2.9rpg in seven games.
#7. Justin Hopkins (6'5''-F-1998, played in 2017-17, plays pro in United Kingdom) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Cavaliers 93-74 in the British BCB (second division) on Saturday night. He scored 23 points and added 5 assists in 28 minutes. This season Hopkins has very high stats. He averages 21.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.2apg and 1.4spg.
#8. Eden Ewing (6'9''-F/C-1997, played in 2018-22, plays in Nicaragua) contributed to Flecheros' victory against the closely-ranked Brumas 85-80 in the Nicaraguan LSB in Wednesday night's game. Ewing scored 23 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists. He has very impressive stats this year 16.1ppg, 8.9rpg, 4.2apg and 1.1bpg in 19 games.
#9. Experienced Jose Rodriguez (6'7''-SF-1992, played in 2018-22, currently in Dominican Republic) managed to help Bonao Basket to win against the closely-ranked Santiago Max 74-70 in the Dominican Rep. LDC (fourth division) last Saturday. He scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. This season Rodriguez averages 4.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.1apg. He has also Dominican Rep. citizenship.
