We bring you last week's top former Tigers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Experienced champion Patrick Miller, a 6'1'' guard at 34 years old who graduated from Tennessee State in 2014 and received the All-OVC First Team award that year, currently plays professionally in Russia. In a recent game last Monday, Miller, despite his extensive experience and impressive skill set, was unable to lead Lokomotiv (27-13) to victory. The team faced a tough match against Zenit (#3) and was narrowly defeated 82-80 on the road. Miller showcased his talent by emerging as the top scorer for Lokomotiv, contributing 19 points and 6 assists in just 31 minutes of play. His remarkable performance against Zenit included not only scoring but also grabbing 3 rebounds. Despite his outstanding efforts and notable stats this season of 15.0 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, 7.2 assists per game (leading the league), and 1.6 steals per game (fourth best in the league), Lokomotiv was unable to secure the win.

#2. Jy'Lan Washington, a 29-year-old former Tigers alumni from 2020 who stands at 6'9'' and currently plays professionally in Mexico, recently faced a tough challenge as his team, Toros Laguna, took on the formidable Halcones de Ciudad Obregon in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. Despite Washington's efforts, Toros Laguna (18-22) fell short against the higher-ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (23-17), losing the game 87-83 on the road. During the game, Washington contributed 4 points and 2 rebounds in just 10 minutes of play. Although he put up a commendable performance against the strong opposition, his team was unable to secure the victory. Washington's season averages stand at 7.2 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game, showcasing his consistent contribution to Toros Laguna throughout the season. Despite the loss, Washington continues to demonstrate his skills and determination as a key player for his team in the Mexican basketball league.

#3. Emmanuel Egbuta, a 29-year-old 6'7'' forward who graduated from Tennessee St. in 2020 and currently plays professionally in the Dominican Republic, made a significant impact in a crucial game for his team, the Titanes. In a thrilling match against the third-ranked Heroes, the Titanes secured a narrow 76-75 victory on Friday night in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. Egbuta showcased his skills by contributing 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist during the game, playing for 23 minutes in his first appearance for the Titanes this season. His performance was instrumental in securing the team's third consecutive win, propelling them to the seventh position in the league standings. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, every match is critical for the Titanes as they strive to make their mark in the league. Egbuta's impressive display on the court against the Heroes not only helped his team emerge victorious but also highlighted his capabilities as a true champion in the making.

#4. Armani Chaney, a 5'10'' point guard and 29-year-old Tigers alumni from 2019, was a key player who helped lead his team to the final of the Eurobasket Summer League in Chicago that year. Currently playing professionally in Canada, Chaney unfortunately could not propel the Winnipeg Sea Bears (3-3) to victory in their recent game against the Mamba in Saskatoon last Friday. Despite Chaney's solid performance, scoring 14 points and contributing 5 assists in just 19 minutes of play, the Sea Bears (#2) were narrowly defeated by a score of 100-98. Although the loss was disappointing, it's still early in the season, and there is plenty of time for the team to bounce back. In the game against Saskatchewan, Chaney displayed his skills by scoring 14 points, securing 2 rebounds, and distributing 5 assists. His overall season stats are also commendable, averaging 10.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Chaney's background as a former Eurobasket Summer League player adds to his credibility, as this league is highly regarded as a top summer league for players aspiring to compete in basketball overseas.
