Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC We bring you last week's top former Owls players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
Look at great performance of Quinton Rose (20 points), Nate Pierre-Louis (19 points), and Jake Forrester (6 points).
#1. Quinton Rose, a 6'8'' guard who graduated from Temple University in 2020 and received the All-AAC Second Team award, currently showcases his skills as a professional player in France. Despite his remarkable performance last Sunday, where he scored 20 points and secured 7 rebounds in a 83-73 defeat on the road against Nantes, the seventh-ranked team in the league, Rose's efforts were not enough to secure a victory for ADA Blois Basket 41. His consistent contributions on the court this season, averaging 13.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 steals per game (the second-best in the league), demonstrate his value as a key player for his team. Although Blois may have fallen short in their recent match, Rose's dedication and skill set continue to make him a standout champion on the court.
#2. Nate Pierre-Louis, a 6'4'' guard and 27-year-old alumnus of Owls from 2020, showcased his talent on Monday night as he led Igokea to a resounding 104-90 victory over the league leader Siroki in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. Pierre-Louis, currently playing professionally in Bosnia, was named the MVP of the game for his exceptional performance. In just 21 minutes of play, he scored 19 points, contributed 4 assists, and made 4 steals, playing a pivotal role in his team's triumph. This exciting matchup between Igokea and Siroki, two of the top 3 ranked teams in their group, was highly anticipated, and Pierre-Louis did not disappoint. BC Igokea Mtel Aleksandrovacis, where Pierre-Louis plays, secured the second position in the standings with this crucial win. Throughout the season, Pierre-Louis has consistently delivered impressive performances, solidifying his reputation as a champion on the court. His season averages of 18.0 points per game (the second-best in the league), 2.5 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 3.0 steals per game (leading the league) highlight his exceptional skills and contribution to his team's success. As a finalist, Pierre-Louis continues to excel and make a significant impact in the league with his remarkable talent and dedication to the game.
#3. Jake Forrester, a 6'9'' forward aged 27, is a former St. Louis graduate from the class of 2023. Despite previously playing for Temple University from 2019 to 2022, he now competes professionally in Greece. Recently, Forrester was unable to guide his team, Aris, to victory against AEK in the Greek Stoiximan Basketball League. Despite his commendable performance of scoring 6 points and securing 4 rebounds in 21 minutes, Aris suffered a close 102-99 defeat to AEK, who currently holds the #4 spot in the league standings. This loss marked Aris' third consecutive defeat in a row. It is Forrester's debut season with the team, during which he has been averaging 5.6 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Despite his efforts, Forrester and his team fell short in their match against AEK, where he showcased his skills with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
#4. JP Moorman II, a 6'7'' small forward and 27-year-old Highlanders alumnus from 2022, showcased his basketball prowess in Kazakhstan. Despite having played for Temple between 2017 and 2021, he now competes professionally in Kazakhstan's National League. In a recent game, Moorman II led BK Caspiy Aktau to a thrilling 89-85 victory over the highly ranked Astana team, boasting a remarkable 28-point performance. His all-around contribution included 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in 37 minutes of play, earning him the well-deserved MVP title for the game. The intense match between Caspiy Aktau and Astana, both top 4 ranked teams, highlighted Moorman II's skills as he guided his team to success. Currently, BK Caspiy Aktau holds the third position in the league, with Moorman II consistently delivering exceptional performances throughout the season. His impressive statistics of 15.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game underscore his significance as a key player and a true champion on the court.
#5. South Sudanese player Kur Jongkuch, standing at 6'9'' and 27 years old, is a graduate of Temple University in 2023. During his time at Temple, he played a crucial role in helping them secure the NBL Canada Regular Season Champion title in that same year. However, in the recent game last Saturday, Picarelli was unable to lead San Vendemiano (25-11) to victory. Despite his stellar performance, the third-placed San Vendemiano suffered an 87-74 defeat in Roma against the leading RO Virtus 1960 in Group A. Picarelli stood out as the top scorer of the game, contributing 19 points in just 25 minutes on the court. His remarkable performance included not only scoring but also grabbing 2 rebounds and providing 1 assist against RO Virtus 1960. Nevertheless, his individual efforts were not enough to secure a win for his team. Throughout this season, Picarelli has maintained an average of 10.0 points per game, along with 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
