#1. Latrell Reid (6'3''-G-2000, played in 2021-24, plays pro in Portugal) could not help Esgueira (3-3) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance Esgueira was badly defeated101-81 at home by the lower-ranked Queluz (#8). Reid was the second best scorer with 19 points. He also added 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 31 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Reid has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.7ppg, 7.0rpg, 7.7apg and 1.3spg.
#2. Derrick Woods (6'8''-F-1996, played in 2018-20, plays in Argentina) led Platense to a surprising victory over the sixth-ranked San Lorenzo (5-5) crushing them 101-78 in the Argentinian La Liga in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Woods scored 22 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Club Atletico Platense Florida (1-3) is placed second from the bottom (#18) in the La Liga. It was Platense's first victory after three consecutive loses. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Woods' first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 12.8ppg and 4.5rpg in four games he played so far.
#3. Kyle Cardaci (6'2''-G-2000, played in 2022-23, currently in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese Liga Betclic was not able to help Imortal (3-0) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance the league leader Imortal was edged93-92 on their home court in Albufeira by the much lower-ranked FC Porto (#8). Cardaci was the second best scorer with 15 points in 26 minutes. It was his first game for Imortal this season. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
#4. Experienced Elias Desport (6'9''-F-1992, played in 2012-16, plays pro in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Sodertalje (4-3) in their game against Norrkoping (8-2) in the Swedish Basketligan. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Sodertalje lost 88-92 on their home court in Sodertalje to the second-ranked Norrkoping. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This year Desport averages 1.9ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2apg in nine games. He is a naturalized Swedish.
#5. Samuel Idowu (6'8''-C/F-1997, played in 2015-19, plays in France) led Union Poitiers Basket 86 to an easy victory against the closely-ranked La Rochelle (5-4) crushing them 95-64 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. Union Poitiers Basket 86 (5-5) is placed tenth in the ProB. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Idowu's first year with the team. Idowu has relatively good stats this season 11.2ppg and 4.2rpg.
#6. Marcus Randolph (6'5''-G-2003, played in 2023-25, currently in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala couldn't help the league outsider Galati (0-7) in their last game. Despite his good performance Galati lost 76-89 on their home court in Galati to the much higher-ranked (#7) Targu Mures. Randolph scored 11 points. He has very impressive stats this year 16.7ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.7spg in three games.
#7. Stephon Roberts (6'10''-F, played in 2023-25, plays pro in Montenegro) couldn't help Vukovi Zeta in their game against Lovcen in the Montenegrin Erste Liga. He cannot count it as his best performance. Roberts recorded only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. His team was defeated 80-72. This season he averages 5.8ppg and 4.8rpg.
