Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC We bring you last week's top former Panthers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Jordan Tillmon, a 24-year-old guard standing at 6'3'' and a recent graduate of PVAMU, showcased his talent in the recent game where his team, Keila Coolbet, faced off against LU. Despite Keila Coolbet's 0-3 record, Tillmon's performance stood out as he recorded a double-double, tallying 22 points and 11 rebounds in just 35 minutes of play. This impressive showing is particularly noteworthy as Tillmon is only in his second season of professional basketball. Even though Keila Coolbet ultimately fell to LU with a final score of 77-85, Tillmon's contributions on the court did not go unnoticed. His remarkable performance earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, solidifying his status as a champion player in the game. Currently leading the league in scoring with an average of 23.0 points per game, Tillmon has been a standout player for Keila Coolbet despite the team's early season struggles. With solid averages of 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, Tillmon's individual success bodes well for his future in the league, and there is optimism that Keila Coolbet can turn their season around with Tillmon leading the way.
#2. Cory Wells, a 6'7'' forward who is 24 years old and an alum of the Panthers from 2026, is currently playing professionally in Austria. Recently, he played a crucial role for Raiffeisen Swans Gmunden in their victory against the closely-ranked Dukes, with a final score of 80-75 in the Austrian Win2Day Basketball Superliga last Sunday. In that game, Wells showcased his skills by scoring 9 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. Despite being placed third in the league, Raiffeisen Swans Gmunden holds a record of 2-0. Wells also had a standout performance against Klosterneuburg, contributing 9 points and 7 rebounds to secure another victory for his team, ultimately leading them to become the champion. So far this season, Wells has been averaging 9.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game in the two games he has played. His contributions on both ends of the court have been instrumental in his team's success, showcasing why he is a champion player.
#3. Javontae Hopkins, a 6'0'' point guard at 25 years old, graduated from PVAMU in 2024 and currently plays professionally in Lithuania. In a recent Lithuanian Betsafe Lietuvos krepsinio lyga game, Hopkins, despite his best efforts, could not lead Nevezis (0-3) to a victory against Neptunas (2-2). Nevezis, the bottom-ranked team, suffered a crushing 89-62 defeat on the road against the much higher-ranked Neptunas, who currently holds the #3 position in the league standings. During the game, Hopkins managed to contribute 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 25 minutes of play. Despite his impressive performance, Nevezis was unable to secure a win, marking their third consecutive loss in the Regular Season. Hopkins, with an average of 11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game (the second-best in the league), has been showcasing solid stats in the three games he has participated in so far this season.
