Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC We bring you last week's top former Cowgirls players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Alexia Smith, the 24-year-old guard standing at 5'8'' who graduated from OK State in 2025 and now competes professionally in Serbia, showcased her talent in the recent game for ZKK Spartak Subotica. Despite the team's loss to Vojvodina 021, ranked third in the league, Smith's performance was outstanding. She emerged as the second-best scorer, contributing 24 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists during her 39 minutes on the court. This remarkable display of skill is particularly noteworthy considering that Smith is only in her second season of professional basketball. While the team faced a defeat, Smith's individual performance highlights her growing prowess in the sport. Throughout the early stages of the season, Smith has consistently demonstrated her capabilities on the court. Her average of 15.5 points per game, 9.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 steals over the four games played so far underscores her significant contribution to ZKK Spartak Subotica. As a rising talent in the league, Smith's impressive statistics reflect her potential to become a champion in the future.
#2. In the recent game, Haleigh Timmer, a 23-year-old Cowgirls alumna from 2026 currently playing professionally in Germany, unfortunately could not lead Herner TC to victory against ALBA. Despite her commendable efforts, the bottom-ranked Herner team suffered a significant 75-57 defeat on the road against the higher-ranked (#5) ALBA squad. Timmer, standing tall at 5'11'', showcased her skills by contributing 14 points and 5 rebounds in 36 minutes of play, establishing herself as the second-best scorer on the court. It is noteworthy that this is Timmer's debut season in professional basketball and her first year with the team, making her performance quite impressive. In the game against ALBA Berlin, Timmer displayed her versatility by not only scoring but also grabbing rebounds and providing 2 assists. Despite her individual success, Herner TC fell short of clinching the win against their formidable opponents. Throughout the season, Timmer has maintained relatively strong statistics, averaging 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game across two matches. As a promising player in her rookie year, Timmer's consistent performance and contributions to the team are setting a solid foundation for her professional career.
#3. French center Tenin Magassa, a 25-year-old graduate from Oklahoma State University in 2025, currently playing professionally in France, recently faced off against Landes in the French La Boulangere Wonderligue. Unfortunately, despite her efforts, she could not help her team, Charleville-Mezieres, secure a victory over the undefeated Landes. In the game, where Charleville-Mezieres lost 61-69 to Landes, Magassa played for 8 minutes, scoring 2 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. While her individual performance was notable, it was not enough to secure a win for her team. Despite the loss, Magassa displayed determination and skill on the court, contributing significantly to her team's efforts. Her current season averages stand at 0.7 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game in the three games played so far. As a dedicated champion, Magassa continues to work hard and strive for success both individually and as part of her team.
