Macy Smith, a 23-year-old forward standing at 6'0'' who graduated from Oakland University in 2025 and currently plays professionally in Portugal, showcased her talent in a recent game for Sanjoanense. Despite her remarkable performance, where she emerged as the top scorer with 24 points and contributed 8 rebounds in 35 minutes of play, her team suffered a heavy defeat on the road against the formidable Benfica, losing 97-50. Even though Sanjoanense faced a tough challenge against the leading Benfica, Smith's impressive display on the court cannot be overlooked. She exhibited her scoring prowess with 24 points, secured 8 rebounds, and provided 1 assist, demonstrating her value to the team. While the outcome was unfavorable for Sanjoanense, it is important to remember that the season is still in its early stages, leaving room for improvement and unforeseen outcomes. Additionally, she maintains strong averages of 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, showcasing her versatility and impact on the court.
