Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cowboys alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Roydell Brown, a 6'6'' guard who graduated from McNeese St. in 2020 and currently plays professionally in Finland, was unable to assist the Bisons in their recent game last Tuesday. Despite his commendable effort, the Bisons were defeated 87-64 on the road by the formidable KTP-Basket, ranked third in the league standings. Brown showcased an impressive performance, securing a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, along with contributing 2 blocks during his 34 minutes on the court. This season marks his debut with the team, and although the Bisons faced a tough loss, it is still early in the season, leaving room for improvement and unforeseen outcomes. In the match against KTP-Basket, Brown displayed his talent by delivering 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 1 assist. Despite his exceptional performance, the Bisons fell short in securing the victory. As a recognition of his outstanding display, Brown was honored with the Triple-Double Badge by eurobasket.com, affirming his reputation as a champion player. Throughout the season, Brown has maintained solid statistics with an average of 14.5 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game (ranking fourth in the league), and 1.5 blocks per game (ranking third in the league). His consistent performance highlights his potential as a finalist player in the league.
#2. Antavion Collum, a 26-year-old center standing at 6'9'' and an alumnus of the Cowboys from 2024 when they clinched the Southland Conf. Regular Season Champion title, currently plays professionally in Slovakia. In a recent game last Saturday, Collum, despite his notable performance, was unable to assist Komarno (0-2) to secure a victory. The team suffered a defeat of 81-74 at home against the higher-ranked Inter (#6), with Collum emerging as the top scorer contributing 16 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes of gameplay. This marks Collum's debut season with the team, where he has showcased commendable statistics averaging 14.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game. Despite his remarkable display against Inter, where he managed to score 16 points, secure 8 rebounds, and provide 1 assist, his team, unfortunately, could not clinch the win.
#3. Australian player Peitok Machar, a 6'10'' forward aged 23, graduated from McNeese St. in 2026 and played a pivotal role in helping them secure victory in the Southland Conference Tournament that year. Currently, he is playing professionally in Australia and recently contributed to the Sydney Kings' success in a match against the eighth-ranked Hawks, where they emerged victorious with a convincing 121-100 scoreline in the Australian National Basketball League. Despite only scoring 2 points in a brief 5-minute appearance on the court, Machar's impact was felt as the Sydney Kings maintained their perfect record of 3-0 in the league, positioning them at the top of the standings. Notably, this marks Machar's debut season with the team, and his performance against Illawarra H., where he scored 2 points and secured 2 rebounds, proved instrumental in securing the win that led to his champion status. Throughout the season, Machar has been averaging 1.0 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game, showcasing his versatility and contributions to the team's success as they aim for further victories.
