Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Every week we bring you a list of the top former Dukes players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Bosnia and Herzegovina's champion Kamiah Smalls, a 5'10'' guard who graduated from JMU in 2020 and received the All-CAA Player of the Year award, currently plays professionally in the WNBA. In a recent matchup, Smalls and her team, the Portland Fire, were unable to overcome the New York Liberty, resulting in a 100-82 loss on the road. Despite her best efforts, Smalls only managed to score 2 points and contribute 4 assists during the game, which she may not consider one of her standout performances. At this early stage of the season, with the Portland Fire ranked at #6, there is still much room for improvement and potential for the team to bounce back. Smalls has been averaging 7.5 points per game and 3.0 assists per game in the two matches she has participated in so far this season. It is notable that Smalls holds dual citizenship in both America and Bosnia and Herzegovina, allowing her to play as a domestic player in Bosnia.
