#1. Experienced champion John Brown III, standing at 6'8'' and playing as a forward/center, is a 34-year-old professional basketball player who graduated from High Point in 2016. In that year, he received the prestigious All-Big South Conference Player of the Year award. Currently, he is playing for a team in Italy. In a recent game, Brown III, playing for Maxima Roma, unfortunately could not lead his team to victory against Napoli in the Italian Serie A. During the game, Brown III showcased his skills by scoring 8 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in 22 minutes of play. This match marked his debut for Maxima Roma in the current season. Despite his commendable performance, Maxima Roma suffered a tough 94-75 defeat on the road against Napoli, who are currently ranked second in the league. Even though this loss was disappointing, it is important to remember that this is just the beginning of the season, and there are many more games to be played. With Brown III's talent and experience, there is still a lot of potential for Maxima Roma to bounce back and achieve success in the upcoming matches.
#2. Spanish player Owen Aquino, a towering 6'8'' forward at 23 years old and an alum of the Panthers class of 2026, was instrumental in helping his team clinch the Big South Conference Regular Season Champion title that year. Aquino has since transitioned to playing professionally in Spain. However, in a recent match where MoraBanc Andorra faced off against Monbus Obradoiro in the Spanish Liga Endesa, Aquino could not lead his team to victory. Despite his best efforts, MoraBanc Andorra fell short to Monbus Obradoiro with a final score of 85-90 in Santiago de Compostela. Aquino, in his first game of the season for MoraBanc Andorra, managed to contribute 2 points during his brief 3-minute appearance on the court. While the outcome was not in his team's favor, Aquino's performance highlighted his skills and unwavering determination as a finalist. Although the game may not have been one of his standout moments, Aquino's resilience and commitment as a player were evident throughout the match.
#3. Devante Wallace, a 6'5'' shooting guard who graduated from High Point in 2015 after helping them to win the Big South Conference Regular Season Co-Champion title, is currently playing professionally in Chile. In a recent game, Wallace unfortunately couldn't lead Colo Colo (3-10) to victory against Castro, resulting in a 82-92 loss on the road. Despite his strong performance of 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals in 32 minutes, Colo Colo was unable to secure the win against the higher-ranked Castro team, currently positioned at #3 in the league standings. As the season progresses, with only three games remaining in the Second Stage, each match becomes increasingly crucial for Wallace and his team. This marks Wallace's first season with the Colo Colo team, and despite the loss in the recent game, he has been having an outstanding individual season with impressive averages of 17.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.8 steals per game in the four games he has played so far. Wallace's exceptional performance highlights his impact on the court, showcasing his talent and contribution to the team's efforts as they aim to improve their position in the league standings.
