#1. Experienced player Javontae Hawkins, a 6'5'' forward/guard who is 32 years old and graduated from Fordham in 2017, is currently playing professionally in Serbia. In a recent game, he made a significant contribution to KK Spartak's 3-point victory over the 21st-ranked FMP BG with a score of 76-73 in the Serbian Meridianbet Kosarkaska lige Srbije on Sunday night. Despite playing for only 19 minutes, Hawkins managed to score 7 points, showcasing his skills on the court. KK Spartak Office Shoes Subotica, the team Hawkins is currently playing for, holds the 19th position in the Joined in Play-Off group. This marks Hawkins' first season with the team, and his impact was immediately felt with his performance against FMP BG, helping secure the important victory for his team. His 7 points were crucial in leading KK Spartak to success, highlighting his importance in the game and solidifying his position as a finalist. Throughout the season, Hawkins has been averaging 8.3 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game, demonstrating his consistent performance and valuable presence on the team. His dedication and talent have undoubtedly played a key role in KK Spartak's progress, making him a champion in his own right.
#2. Christopher Gaston, a 6'7'' power forward and 37-year-old Rams alumni from 2013, is a champion of the Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Newcomer of the Year award. Currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico, Gaston recently made his debut for Indios de Mayaguez, a team that unfortunately fell short against the Mets in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Despite Gaston's solid performance of 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 19 minutes, Indios de Mayaguez suffered a 91-85 loss on the road to the Mets, marking their sixth consecutive defeat. In a subsequent game against Guaynabo, Gaston showcased his skills once again with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite his efforts, Indios de Mayaguez could not secure the win. Notably, Gaston holds both American and Puerto Rican citizenship, allowing him to play in Puerto Rico as a domestic player.
#3. Kyle Rose, a 6'4'' shooting guard who is 26 years old and graduated from Fordham in 2024, is currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico. Recently, he demonstrated his talent and skill on the court by contributing to Atleticos de San German's narrow 90-88 victory over the third-ranked Santeros. In this crucial game between two top 3 ranked teams in Group A, Rose's performance was instrumental in securing the win for his team. Scoring 8 points in just 14 minutes of play, he showcased his abilities as a true champion. In another game against Aguada, Rose once again proved his worth by scoring 8 points and grabbing 1 rebound, helping his team emerge victorious. Currently, Rose maintains an average of 4.9 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game, further solidifying his importance to the team.
#4. Nigerian player Chuba Ohams, a talented 6'9'' forward at 28 years old and an alum of Rams from the class of 2022, currently shines as a professional basketball player in Mexico. Recently, he led Angeles de Ciudad de Mexico to a thrilling victory over the closely-ranked Tijuana Zonkeys with a score of 112-107 in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico on a Friday night. In a thrilling showdown on Wednesday night, the 23-year-old 6'5'' guard, Zach Riley from New Zealand, a recent graduate of Fordham (2025), showcased his prowess as a professional basketball player. Playing for the Auckland Tuatara, Riley was instrumental in securing a narrow 100-97 victory over the formidable Rams, who held an impressive 8-3 record in the New Zealand National Basketball League. Despite it being his debut season in professional basketball, Riley delivered an outstanding performance by scoring 19 points in just 26 minutes of play. His remarkable display was pivotal in the Auckland Tuatara's triumph, marking their fourth consecutive win. This victory was particularly significant as it pitted two top 4 ranked teams against each other, solidifying Auckland Tuatara's position at the top of the league standings with a 9-2 record. Riley's impact on the court was undeniable as he not only scored 19 points but also contributed 3 rebounds and 2 assists against the Rams. His all-around performance was crucial in leading his team to victory, earning him the title of the champion of the game.
