#1. Morgan Jones, a 6'2'' guard who is 27 years old, graduated from Louisville in 2023. She previously played at FSU between 2018 and 2022 before turning professional and joining a team in Turkey. In a recent game, Jones led her team, Kayseri, to a 64-58 victory over Turgutlu in the Turkish Herbalife KBSL. She was named the MVP of the game after recording a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes of play. Despite the team's current placement of sixth in the league with a record of 1-1, it is still early in the season, leaving room for potential changes in the standings. Jones, in her first year with the team, demonstrated exceptional skills and performance during the game against Turgutlu. Her impressive stat line of 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists played a crucial role in securing the victory for Kayseri, ultimately leading them to be crowned the champions of the match. Jones has been having a remarkable individual season, boasting high statistics with an average of 23.0 points per game (the fourth best in the league), along with 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game in the two games she has played so far.
#2. Experienced South Sudanese champion, Adut Bulgak, a 6'4'' center/forward who is 33 years old and an alumna of the Seminoles from 2016, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game, Bulgak unfortunately couldn't help Girona secure a win as they were narrowly defeated 82-79 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Estudiantes team. Despite her strong performance of 12 points and 4 rebounds in 29 minutes of play, Girona fell short in the end. This game marked Bulgak's debut for Girona this season. Bulgak, a finalist in the All-ACC Second Team in 2016, showcased her skills against Estudiantes by contributing 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Despite her notable efforts, her team was unable to emerge victorious. It's worth noting that Bulgak also holds Canadian citizenship, adding to her diverse background and experiences as a professional basketball player.
#3. Shakayla Thomas, a 6'0'' power forward who graduated from FSU in 2018 and received the All-ACC First Team award that year, currently plays professionally in France. Despite her best efforts, Thomas, a finalist, could not lead Bourges (1-1) to victory against the undefeated BLMA (3-0) in the French La Boulangere Wonderligue. In a hard-fought match where Bourges ultimately fell to BLMA 83-90 in Montpellier, Thomas managed to score 4 points, grab 4 rebounds, and provide 1 assist in 25 minutes of play. This season marks Thomas' debut with the team, and she has been showcasing her skills by averaging 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in the two matchups so far. Despite her solid performance against BLMA, the champion, Thomas and her team were unable to clinch the victory, highlighting the competitive nature of the league.
#4. Spanish champion Leticia Romero, a 5'8'' guard who is 31 years old and an alumna of Seminoles from 2017, currently plays professionally in Spain. She recently showcased her skills in a match against Avenida, a closely-ranked opponent with a 1-1 record, where her team secured a resounding 82-57 victory in the Spanish Liga Femenina Endesa last Wednesday. In that game, Romero made a notable impact by scoring 7 points and contributing 5 assists in just 19 minutes of play. This marked her first appearance for Valencia this season. Valencia is currently ranked seventh in the league, and Romero has been a part of the team for eight years. Romero's outstanding performance against Avenida demonstrated her prowess on the court, as she not only scored crucial points but also showcased her playmaking abilities with 5 assists. Her contributions were instrumental in leading her team to victory, highlighting her qualities as a champion player.
#5. Mexican basketball champion Mariana Valenzuela, a 23-year-old graduate of Seton Hall in 2026 who previously played for FSU between 2021 and 2025, has been making waves in the Portuguese Liga Feminina de Basquetebol. Recently, she played a crucial role in Benfica's triumph over Sporting, one of the league's weaker teams, with a score of 75-63 in a derby match last Sunday. Valenzuela, a standout player, notched 6 points and secured 5 rebounds in just 18 minutes of play during her debut game for Benfica this season. Her stellar performance was instrumental in her team's victory, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings. Against Sporting, Valenzuela once again displayed her prowess on the court by contributing significantly with 6 points and 5 rebounds. Her impact was undeniable, showcasing her skills and determination as a champion.
#6. Makayla Timpson, a 24-year-old former Seminoles alumna from the class of 2025, who was a Wade Trophy (Player of the Year) Finalist that year, now showcases her basketball skills playing professionally in the WNBA. Recently, Timpson, standing tall at 6'2'', was unable to lead the Indiana Fever to victory over the Las Vegas Aces. Despite her valiant efforts, she could only manage to score 4 points in 12 minutes of play as her team fell short with a final score of 83-94 in the Women's National Basketball Association. In the face-off against the Las Vegas Aces, she displayed a commendable performance by contributing 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Even though Timpson gave her all, her team was unable to secure the win. Throughout this season, Timpson has maintained an average of 5.5 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game across 46 games.
#7. Brianna Turnage, a 6'1'' guard who graduated from Georgia Tech in 2026 but previously played for FSU from 2022 to 2025, is currently showcasing her skills in professional basketball in Chile. In a recent game, she faced SESI but unfortunately could not lead her team, Los Leones, to victory. Despite her notable performance of scoring 8 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 22 minutes, her team ended up losing 53-65. Turnage displayed her talent on the court against SESI, demonstrating her scoring ability and prowess in rebounding. Her individual effort was commendable, yet it was not enough to secure a win for her team. Throughout the current season, Turnage has been maintaining impressive averages of 6.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game, ranking her as the third-best rebounder in the league after four games.
