#1. Experienced player D'Von Campbell, a 6'1'' guard who is 34 years old and a graduate of Campbellsville in 2015, played a crucial role in helping Belize City Defenders secure a narrow 70-68 victory against the closely-ranked Running Rebels (9-3) in a thrilling derby game in the Belize Elite Basketball League. Despite scoring only 3 points and contributing 5 assists in 20 minutes of play, Campbell's impact on the game was significant. The matchup between Belize City Defenders (10-2) and the Running Rebels was highly anticipated as both teams were among the top 4 ranked teams in the league. With this win, Campbell's team extended their winning streak to ten games in a row, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings. Campbell's standout performance against the Running Rebels showcased his versatility on the court, as he not only scored 3 points but also grabbed 3 rebounds and distributed 5 assists to guide his team to victory. His consistent contributions throughout the season have been notable, with averages of 5.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists (second best in the league), and 1.1 steals per game. It is worth noting that Campbell holds dual American and Belizean citizenship, allowing him to play in Belize as a domestic player, further enhancing his impact on the team and the league as a whole. His experience and skill set make him a valuable asset to Belize City Defenders as they continue their quest to become champions in the Belize Elite Basketball League.
