#1. Experienced champion Eric Griffin, a 6'8'' forward who is 36 years old and graduated from Campbell in 2012 with an All-Big South Conference First Team award, currently plays professionally in Mexico. In the recent game last Wednesday, Griffin, despite his impressive performance, was unable to help Pioneros de Los Mochis (18-22) secure a win. Los Mochis suffered a defeat on the road, falling 89-75 to the second-ranked Frayles de Guasave. Griffin stood out as the top scorer of the game, contributing 22 points while also making 3 shots in the 29 minutes he played. His remarkable performance against Frayles included not only scoring but also grabbing 2 rebounds and providing 1 assist. However, despite Griffin's efforts, his team ultimately could not clinch the victory. Throughout the season, Griffin has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 10.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. His consistent performance on the court showcases his skills and contribution to the team as they strive for success in the league.
#2. Jonathan Rodriguez, a 38-year-old 6'5'' small forward from the Dominican Republic, and a Fighting Camels alumni from 2010, showcased his skills last Monday while playing professionally in Puerto Rico. Despite his noteworthy performance, the sixth-placed Osos de Manati (8-15) were unable to secure a victory. They were defeated 92-87 in Santurce by the higher-ranked Cangrejeros (#5) in Group B. Rodriguez played for 24 minutes during the game, contributing 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. His efforts were commendable, but unfortunately, his team couldn't clinch the win. Throughout this season, Rodriguez has been averaging 6.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. It is interesting to note that Jonathan Rodriguez holds dual American and Dominican Republic citizenship, allowing him to play in the Dominican Republic as a domestic player.
