We bring you last week's top former Matadors players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Champion Darius Brown II, a 6'2'' guard who is 27 years old and graduated from Utah State in 2024, previously played for CSUN between 2018 and 2022 before starting his professional career in Italy. In the recent game, Brown II, despite his impressive performance, could not lead Dolomiti Energia Trentino to a victory. The team was narrowly defeated 93-90 by the second-ranked Treviso on the road. Even though Trento did not emerge victorious, Brown II showcased his skills by scoring 14 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists in just 29 minutes of play. This performance is particularly noteworthy considering he is only in his third season of professional basketball. It is worth noting that this is Brown II's first year with the team, and his contribution in the game against Treviso was commendable. With an average of 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game in the two games he has played so far this season, Brown II has been maintaining relatively good statistics. As the season progresses, there is still ample opportunity for him to further showcase his talent and help lead his team to success.

#2. Cayman Islands champion Joshua O'Garro, a 25-year-old guard standing at 6'6'' and an alum of the Matadors from 2026, currently plays professionally in the United Kingdom. In a recent game, he played a pivotal role in the London Lions' triumph over the closely-ranked Leicester Riders with a score of 71-66 in the British Super League Basketball. O'Garro showcased his skills by scoring 15 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just 26 minutes of play, an impressive feat for a player in his debut professional season. The match was highly anticipated as it featured two top 4 ranked teams battling it out on the court. With this victory, the London Lions (5-0) secured the top spot in the league, having won all five games in the Regular Season thus far. O'Garro's standout performance against Leicester Riders not only contributed to the team's success but also highlighted his capabilities as a finalist player. In his first season, O'Garro has been averaging 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game across five games, showcasing his versatility and impact on the court. It is noteworthy that he holds dual citizenship of American and Cayman Islands, allowing him to play as a domestic player in the Cayman Islands as well. O'Garro's exceptional talent and dedication to the game position him as a rising star and a key player for his team, proving himself as a true champion in the making.

#3. Onyinyechi Eyisi, a 6'9'' forward/center aged 27, who graduated from CSUN in 2023, is currently playing professionally in the Czech Republic. Despite his best efforts, Eyisi, playing for the league underdog Plzen with a 0-5 record, was unable to lead his team to victory against Opava, who held a 2-3 record in the Czech Republic Maxa NBL. During the game, Eyisi managed to score 6 points and grab 7 rebounds in just 15 minutes of play. Unfortunately, Plzen, sitting at the bottom of the standings, suffered a 82-92 defeat at the hands of the higher-ranked #7 team, Opava. Plzen has not secured a win in any of their five Regular Season games so far. Eyisi showcased an impressive performance against Opava, contributing significantly with 6 points and 7 rebounds. His overall statistics for the season include averaging 4.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game over five matches. It's worth noting that Eyisi is a naturalized Nigerian player, bringing his skills and expertise to the professional basketball scene in the Czech Republic.

#4. Tavrion Dawson, a 29-year-old 6'8'' forward/center and Matadors alumnus from 2018, is currently playing professionally in Japan. In a recent game, he led Tokushima Gambarous to a thrilling 90-87 victory over the fourth-ranked Nara team. Dawson's impressive performance earned him the title of MVP of the game, as he contributed 25 points and 3 assists in just 28 minutes of play. Under Dawson's leadership, Tokushima Gambarous, with a 3-1 record, currently holds the second position in the West group. This recent win marked the team's third consecutive victory, showcasing their strong form in the league. Dawson, now in his fourth season with the team, continues to be a key player and contributor to their success on the court. In another standout performance against Bambitious N, Dawson scored 25 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, and provided 3 assists, ultimately leading his team to victory once again. His exceptional skills and contributions on the court undoubtedly played a crucial role in Tokushima Gambarous emerging as the champions of the game. Throughout the season, Dawson has been delivering stellar performances, averaging 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game across four games. His consistent high-level play highlights his value to the team and reinforces his reputation as a top-tier player in the league.
