#1. Experienced Nigerian player Ijeoma Uchendu, a 33-year-old standing at 6'1'' and a former graduate of Butler University in 2015 where she received the All-Big East First Team award, currently competes professionally in Mexico. In a recent game, she played a pivotal role in leading the Santas to a hard-earned 71-67 victory over the closely-ranked El Calor in the Mexican Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Feminil's second division. Uchendu showcased her skills by achieving a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes of play. The Santas del Potosi team, with a current record of 5-11, holds the fifth position in the league standings. Uchendu's stellar performance against El Calor marked her team's third consecutive win. Her remarkable display of scoring, rebounding, and assisting not only secured the victory but also earned her the esteemed Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting her as a definitive champion in the sport. Throughout this season, Uchendu has maintained solid averages of 7.5 points, 7.9 rebounds (leading the league in this category), 1.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, showcasing her consistent and impactful presence on the court as a finalist.
#2. Australian champion Kate Tanner, a 6'2'' forward and Bulldogs alumna from 2022 who currently plays professionally in Australia, recently showcased her skills in a game where her team, Nunawading Spectres, faced off against the Wildcats in the Australian NBL One North league, the second division of the competition. Despite her efforts, scoring 9 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play, Tanner and the 13th-placed Nunawading Spectres (4-6) fell short against the second-ranked Wildcats, losing 92-82 on the road in the South group. This defeat marked Nunawading Spectres' sixth consecutive loss in a row, highlighting the challenges they have been facing. In another game against Eltham W, Tanner once again demonstrated her prowess on the court by contributing 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Despite her standout performance, her team was unable to secure a victory. Throughout this season, the talented champion Tanner has been maintaining solid averages of 8.8 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game, showcasing her consistent impact on the court for her team.
