Look at great performance of Malik Toppin (13 points), Nyika Williams (12 points), and John Williams (26 points).
#1. Malik Toppin, a 6'9'' center who graduated from Salem in 2019 and briefly played at Barton Co. between 2016 and 2017, showcased his skills as a pro player in Qatar for Al Sadd. In a recent game against Al Arabi, despite Toppin's commendable efforts, Al Sadd suffered a disappointing 81-65 defeat. Toppin managed to achieve a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in 38 minutes of play. This season marks Toppin's debut with the team, and he has been making a significant impact on the court. In the match against Al Arabi, Toppin displayed an impressive performance by contributing 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists. Although his individual performance was noteworthy, his team was unable to secure a victory. Toppin's outstanding display in the game led to him being awarded the Triple-Double Badge by eurobasket.com, further solidifying his reputation as a champion player. Throughout this season, Toppin has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 15.0 points per game, 12.0 rebounds per game (leading the league in this category), and 2.5 assists per game in the two games he has participated in so far. His consistent performance highlights his skill and contribution to the team's efforts on the court. Notably, Toppin has previously participated in the prestigious Eurobasket Summer League, known as one of the top international summer leagues in the market. His experience in such competitive environments has undoubtedly contributed to his development as a player and his success as a finalist.
#2. Experienced Vincentian basketball player Nyika Williams, standing at an impressive 6'8'' and playing as a center/forward, is a 38-year-old former Tigers alumnus from 2011. Although he briefly played in Barton Co. between 2007 and 2008, he now showcases his talents professionally in Japan. In a recent match in the Japanese B1 League, Williams led his team, the Toyama Grouses, to a decisive victory over the 12th-ranked Fighting Eagles (17-36), with a dominant scoreline of 109-86 last Wednesday. During the game, Williams displayed his skills by scoring 12 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. Despite the Toyama Grouses currently holding the 13th position in the West group with a record of 13-40, Williams' stellar performance against the FE Nagoya team was crucial in securing the win. His contribution of 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist not only helped the team emerge victorious but also highlighted his prowess as a true champion on the court. Throughout the season, Williams has maintained solid averages of 8.6 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game across the 52 games he has played so far. His consistent performance and leadership qualities make him a standout player and a formidable force in the league as he continues to showcase his skills and determination as a finalist.
#3. In the recent game, the 6'4'' shooting guard John Williams, a 27-year-old FIU graduate of 2023 who previously played at Barton Co. between 2018 and 2020 and now competes professionally in Germany, showcased his skills for Bayer Giants Leverkusen. Despite his outstanding performance, where he emerged as the top scorer with 26 points and contributed 3 assists in 33 minutes of play, Leverkusen fell short against the higher-ranked Koblenz, losing 94-103 on the road. This defeat marked Leverkusen's fourth consecutive loss, emphasizing the team's struggle as they move towards the end of the Regular Season with only three games remaining. Williams' impressive display against Koblenz highlighted his growing impact in his third season of professional basketball. His overall season statistics reflect his contribution, averaging 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game across 27 appearances. As the Regular Season nears its end, every upcoming game becomes crucial for Williams and Bayer Giants Leverkusen as they strive to turn their fortunes around and secure vital victories.
#4. Anthony Smith, a 29-year-old 6'8'' forward/center and alum of Racers in 2020, previously played at Barton Co. between 2015 and 2017. He recently showcased his talent in Romania's Liga Nationala Baschet de Masculin, playing for BC CSU Sibiu, currently placed eighth in the league. In a recent game against the third-ranked Voluntari, Smith's stellar performance helped secure an impressive 85-64 victory for his team. Smith's notable contributions included scoring 8 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in 26 minutes of play. This victory marked BC CSU Sibiu's third consecutive win, setting the stage for a critical final game of the Regular Season. Smith's consistent performance throughout the season has been exceptional, averaging 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in the 17 games he has played. His remarkable skills on the court truly highlight his capabilities as a champion and finalist.
#5. Angolan Eric Bras Amandio, a 6'3'' guard who is 27 years old and graduated from Okla City in 2022, showcased his skills on the court by leading Santa Cruz to a significant victory over the 13th-ranked Corralejo with a score of 82-71 in the Spanish Tercera FEB (fourth division) this past Saturday. Amandio, who previously played at Barton Co. between 2018 and 2019 and now plays professionally in Spain, was named the MVP of the game for his stellar performance. During the game, Amandio delivered an impressive double-double by scoring 30 points, securing 11 rebounds, and contributing 6 assists in just 31 minutes of play. His remarkable display on the court not only secured the win for his team but also earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, underscoring his reputation as a champion player. Currently, Fundacion CB Canarias Santa Cruz holds the ninth position in Group B-A with a record of 11-14. With only two games remaining in the Regular Season, each upcoming game holds significant importance for the team. Amandio has been a key player for his team this season, averaging 14.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game across 17 appearances. Amandio's exceptional performance against Corralejo further solidified his standing as a champion, showcasing his skills and leadership on the court as he continues to make a significant impact for Santa Cruz.
#6. Jahlil Rawley, a 6'4'' guard and 28-year-old Hatters alum from 2020, showcased his skills in a recent East Coast Basketball League game where he led the Winston-Salem Wolves to a convincing 131-113 victory over the Queen City Vipers. Rawley, who previously played at Barton Co. between 2016 and 2017 and now competes as a pro in the ECBL, delivered a standout performance by recording a triple-double. He scored 13 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists, demonstrating his versatility and impact on the court. Rawley's exceptional display against the QC Vipers earned him recognition, including the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his prowess as a champion player. Throughout the season, Rawley has maintained impressive individual statistics, averaging 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 4.5 steals per game, ranking him as one of the top performers in the league. As a former participant in the Eurobasket Summer League, known for attracting talented players aiming to pursue basketball opportunities overseas, Rawley has proven himself as a skilled and versatile player who continues to excel on the court.
