Leones de Ponce (BSN) waived 27-year old American center Garret Siler (213-127kg-86, college: Augusta State). In 14 BSN games he recorded 14.2ppg, 8.6rpg (#5 in the league), 1.4apg and 1.5bpg (#3 in the league) this season.
This season Siler played at Jiangsu Dragons (CBA) in Chinese league. In 32 games he averaged impressive 18.3ppg, 11.2rpg, 1.1apg and 2.3bpg.
The last season he was tested by the Suns in NBA.
The previous (10-11) season Siler played at Iowa Energy in D-League. In four games he averaged 4.5ppg and 5.0rpg that season.
The most of previous (09-10) season he spent at Shanghai Sharks (CBA) in Chinese league. In 38 games he averaged 14.1ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.6bpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Siler also spent pre-season at Utah Flash in D-League that year.
In 2009 he was drafted by Utah Flash (D-League) as #5 pick overall.
Siler attended Augusta State (NCAA Div.II) and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as his college team won PeachBelt Tournament in 2009. Siler received also NABC NCAA D2 All-America Southeast District 1st Team award back in 2009.
He has played previously professionally in NBA (Atlanta Hawks) and D-League (Utah F.).
The scouts decsribe him following way: What you would expect a 7-foot, 300 pound center to be. He establishes himself down low with ease due to his incredible strength and overpowering size. His length and size allow him to dunk the ball with barely jumping, but his immense size limit him greatly in footwork and athleticism. Knows what it takes to get to the line where he shoots fairly well.
