Erika Valek heads to Sweden, Sallen Basket

Erika Valek (168-G-82, college: Purdue) will continue her career in Sweden. The Colombian point guard signed a one-year deal with Sallen Basket. Valek is not a new face in Sweden, as she already played for the Solna Vikings. It was in 2008/09 season, but she appeared just five times in the league. Valek had 3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.8 apg and 2.2 spg. In the past, Valek played for Cajarural Verona Norte and Botas. Valek is a product of the Purdue University, where she graduated in 2004. She is active member of the Colombian National Team. At the South American Championships in Santiago, Valek helped Colombia to win the Bronze. She had 10.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 6.4 apg and 2.8 spg at this event and was named Latinbasket.com All-South American Championships 2nd Team -10.
