CUBA - COLOMBIA 75-65

Cuba made another step forward to Semifinals in Neiva. They handed 75-65 loss to the host of FIBA Americas Championship and jumped to 2-0 in Preliminary Group A. On the other side, Colombia dropped to 1-2 and now shares third place with Puerto Rico. Oyanaisy Gelis (172-G-83) stepped up for Cuba with 22 points and 5 assists. Clenia Noblet (191-C-87) had 18 points and 7 rebounds, and Ineidis Casanova (165-G-88) helped the winners with 14 points and 7 rebs. Erika Valek (168-G-82, college: Purdue) responded with 22 points, 11 rebs and 6 assists in defeat. Their second scorer was Mabel Martinez (176-F-86) with 12 points and Elena Diaz (185-F-83, college: Nebraska) added three less. Quarters: 15-15, 16-16, 22-19, 22-15. In Day Four, Cuba will meet Argentina. Colombia will take a rest.
