CHILE - COLOMBIA 50-69

Colombia had a joyful Day One of the FIBA Americas Championship 2011. The host of this event celebrated 50-69 win against Chile. Both teams are placed to Group A together with Cuba, Puerto Rico and Argentina. Tathiana Mosquera (195-C-89) was a key player in victory with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Mabel Martinez (176-F-86) had 13 points and 7 rebs, while Erika Valek (168-G-82, college: Purdue) helped her team with 11 points and 6 assists. In Chile, Javiera Novion (168-G-87, college: Eckerd) shined with 19 points and 10 rebs. Daniela Troncoso (175-F-87) and Jenifer Fuentes (178-F-96) had 9 and 8 points respectively. Quarters: 15-13, 9-19, 11-20, 15-17. In Day Two, Colombia will meet Puerto Rico. Chile will take on Argentina.
