Colombia won the bronze medal in the Southamerican Women Championship 2010, the National team defeated Paraguay 85 70 with a monster performance of Yaneth Arias who finished the game with 34 pts and 14 rebounds.

The third place gives to Colombia the ticket to the FIBA Americas Panamerican Championship and also to the Panamerican Games, the Panamerican Champioship qualifies to the Olympic Games.
The National still have big room to improve, the team has good size with Levys Torres , Tathiana Mosquera and the young Luz Yadira Asprilla, Colombia lead the rebounding in all the games with the exception of the game against Brazil, also have a great playmaker like Erika Valek and with the right training Valek should be one the top guards in the continent, Colombia have in its star Yaneth Maria Arias a powerfull scoring machine with skills and size to play in the better leagues of the world.
The team needs to improve its three point shooting and add more systems, to fight in best way against hard defenses.
