Bahamas U17- Puerto Rico U17 34:77
Puerto Rico remain undefeated in the Centrobasket U17 Championship for Women after winning on day 2 of the competition played in Aguascalientes. The team did not have any difficulties improving to 2-0 record after 77:34 victory over Bahamas U17.
Puerto Rico opened the game with the massive spurt and took the lead from the beginning of the game. The favorites produced 25-10 in the first frame and never looked behind after. They added 20-11 in the second quarter to enjoy 45:21 at the halftime. Puerto Rico played a good team game with all the players contributing into the victory. The third period became a nightmare for Bahamas U17 that lost it 4-24. In the last period the teams did not do their beat and scored only 17 points together. Bahamas managed to win the last stanza 9-8, however lost 34:77.
Keiry Huertas (-94) paced all the winners with 13 points and Yamerie Williams (-93) collected 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rivera Diamalises and Carmen Torres (-95) added 10 points each as the latter also grabbed 11 rebounds. Taneka Sandiford (-95) produced 10 points in the losing effort.
Puerto Rico will open Day 3 with the game versus Virgin Islands. Costa Rica will face Bahamas in the second game of the Centrobasket U17 Championship for Women.
