Costa Rica U17 - Bahamas U17 68:52

Costa Rican U17 selection grabbed the second win at the Centrobasket tournament. They defeated Bahamas in Aguascalientes yesterday to improve at 2-1 record. Bahamas slipped at 0-3 at the bottom of the ladder.
It was a sloppy game at the start as the teams teamed up for just 17 points in the first frame. Costa Rica led 10:7 after ten minutes. The tempo gradually increased as Costa Rica started to take over. They secured a 7-point lead at halftime. Bahamas went off the dressing room eager to snap the losing skid. They outscored Costa Rica in the third period to trail by just 5 points at the final break. But Bahamas could not improve in the final stanza scoring just 10 points. Costa Ricans responded with 21 points and ensured a confident win at the end.
Karen Acosta (-95) notched 21 points and 11 boards to pace Costa Rica. Valeria Miranda (-94) added 12 points, while Yoseline Alfaro (-94) had 11 points in the win. Britenique Harrison (-94) answered with 12 points and 12 boards for Bahamas. Taneka Sandiford (-95) netted 9 points in defeat.
